Swirlydoos Lavender Escape

I so loved playing with this months kit so much that I haven't even touched the "Spotlight" kit yet, or the technique kit. I still have so much more to do with the kit,and plenty to work with as it is jammed packed with Swirly goodness. I am also incorporating my beautiful Heartfelt Creations stamps into my layouts as the stamps are just such a beautiful compliment to my pages. I have been collecting stamps for a very long time, and don't use them as often as I should, but since becoming a Design Team member for Heartfelt Creations, it has opened a new world of stamping for me. As I said before, it started with the beautiful leaf stamp I purchased and use a lot in my layouts. I think I will try my hand at card making. My all time favorite card maker is my dear scrapping friend Paulien van den Bosch. Check out her blog if you haven't seen her work..Her cards are amazing!!
Of course I was cleaning out my email today and came across the email that Krissy sent to me in February 2009 inviting me to Guest Design for Swirlydoos...The rest they say is history.
Now, onto the first 5 Layouts I did with the kit.
This first one is full of luscious lavender tones. I created the flowers using my Retro flower punch and the Tim Holtz Tattered Flowers die. I basically used my Retro Camelot Flower tutorial and just added 2 larger petals from the TH die underneath. I will post a tutorial this weekend. I did some wet distressing and stitching on the edges.

I sewed the May Arts vine ribbon to the beautiful lavender trim included with the kit. I Sprayed the stamped leaves with 2 different colors of Glimmer Mist, then lightly inked them with lavender chalk ink. The flowers were die cut from the Bazzil card stock in the add on kit to compliment the main kit. I added the sweet antique brads as middles. They were in the kit as well. The other flowers are Prima from past kits.

I added the pearl brads to the chandelier.

Close ups of the beautiful Heartfelt Creations leaf stamp.

I printed up tiny letters using Microsoft Word, then cut them out. I inked them and added them to the plaque.

This one is a prayer for my dear Gabrielle who just left for college. She is my angel, who will have angels looking out for her while she is far from home.

A close up of the flowers I created. I printed up the words for the phrase using Microsoft Word, cut them out and inked them. The leaves are another a Heartfelt Creations leaf stamp. I also created the vine to match the Prima vine on the page. The butterflies are from the file I created for the kit.

The bird cage is the Tim Holtz Sizzix die from the Alterations collection. I trimmed it with pearls and a deco piece from the kit. I used Picket fence distress crackle paint on it then brushed over it with chalk ink and rubbed it into the cracks.

I also used the distress crackle paint on the Sizzix die cut frames and inked them as well.

This next one is a picture of Gabrielle walking out our front door the day she left for Portland. I wanted an elegant feel to the layout. First off, we gave our children roots. They know where they were planted to nuture and grow, and when the time was right, we gave them wings. This is the day Gabbie left for school. She has big dreams.

More flowers and more leaves created with Heartfelt Creations stamps, sprayed with Glimmer Mist and covered with Rock Candy Stickkles.

I punched holes and added eyelets with my Cropodile, then laced some of the tule ribbon corset style.

Once again using the lavender paper mixed with the rich jewel toned blue, I created a LO about my daughter and I. We really are 2 peas in a pod. This LO is based on the beautiful Sketch by Beggahuna included with the kit. In my opinion, she is the best sketch artist out there and Swirlydoos is very lucky that she is on the design team with us.

Just some close ups...

This one was done for a project for Heartfelt Creations that i created with the kit. A marriage made in heaven. I really do have the best of both worlds.
I had a lot of fun altering a couple of the papers as I did with this one with Glimmer Mist. Distressing and aging everything from the background paper to the same piece of pink Bazzill card stock from the card stock add on kit used to create the leaves, flowers, butterflies, photo mat and scallop trim. The flowers and leaves are stamped with 2 Heartfelt Creations stamp sets. The photo is my sisters grandaughter. The sweetest little angel with fiery red hair. She had come for a visit to say goodbye to Gabbie, her favorite babysitter.

I stamped a few different size flowers and layered them in two's. And the leaves are also Heartfelt Creations stamps. The sets are beautiful and the leaves come in 6 different sizes.

I added butterfly wings to the photo using Photoshop CS3 and used my gorgeous Florabella actions and layers to edit the photo. The butterflies are part of the file I shared for the kit at Swirlydoos.

Well that is all I have for now...
Off to create more!!
