Welcome to the June 2021 Heartfelt Creations Alumni Blog hop. I hope that you are inspired by the creations of each artist. I have created a card, using some of the new Climbing Clematis Collection. Living in Florida, I see Clematis everywhere. The purples are my favorite!! I think I will be using this collection for quite some time. This collection is my new favorite!
I created a 5x7 white card for my base. I cut a piece of paper from the Wild Rose Paper Collection and adhered it to the front of the card. I die cut the Decorative Circle Frame pieces and layered them on the front. I used white card stock and paper from the same paper collection.

For the sentiment on the cover, I used the Just For You Sentiment Cling Stamp Set. I added some rhinestones around the title just for added sparkle.

This is a close up of the Clematis flowers and leaves. I used the Prills for the centers of the flowers. Lettuce Entertain you is the perfect Prill color for these purple flowers.

Here is another closeup of the flowers from the other side of the card. I added some pop dots in-between some of the circle layers for added dimension. I added Rajni Chawlas Crystal Clear to all of the flowers and leaves. It adds gorgeous sparkle, and brings the flowers to life.

The hop begins on Friday, June 25, 2021 at 8am, and runs until 11:55PM EDT on Monday, June 28, 2021. At that time a randomly chosen comment from a mystery blog will be chosen to win a $25 Heartfelt Creations Gift Card. 49 and Market Hike More. 12x12 Layout...Into The Woods...

Hello beautiful friends!! This week I bring you a layout created with papers from the new gorgeous Vintage Artistry Hike More collection. I simply love the forest look. Mushrooms and fern, oh my! I went into the woods behind my home and gather some twigs to add to my layout.  I tied them together using the 5 ply jute by separating the strands. There wasn't to much I had to do to adorn the background papers. I took the same design from each of the 12x12 and 6x8 collections and layered them. This layout has quite a bit of dimension, and looks great in a shadow box. I mounted each paper on corrugated cardboard using Mod Podge, and distressed the edges peeling back, tearing and curling layers, and using white gesso, sprays, paint and inks, to color the exposed edges. Once the layers were dried and set, I began building the design.

Tucked into the flower clusters, I used the archival board leafy stems from the Treasure collection. I patted on some texture paste and let it dry. I painted the stems and leaves with colored mist sprays, then heat embossed the purple buds with embossing powder. Once they were dry, I rubbed some Distress Oxide over the buds. This gave the buds a jeweled look. Mixing a couple of the floral collections gave the cluster look I wanted. I tucked some extra leaves in-between. I also heat embossed and colored the archival board that looks like netting and tucked it in a few places.

I used the INTO THE WOODS banner from the Ephemera Bits collection for my title.

You can see the amount of dimension from this angle. The gorgeous Garden Petals in the Twilight color is just beautiful! It is my favorite shade of purple. It reminds me of the color of the Jacaranda trees here in Florida. I tucked in some Archival Board that I heat embossed, and added some Art Stones that I misted with ink color.

Thank you for joining me today. I hope you are inspired to get close up with nature and travel, and create your own projects using Hike More. With all of the accessories available, you can create just about anything!

Crealies Guest Designer June 2021

Hello beautiful friends. I am Guest Designing for Crealies once again, and having a wonderful time using their products. I have done a 12x12 layout converting dies, using Crealies them in different ways. Some people may see a Lucky Clover, I see flowers!!! Some people may see nesting squares, I see perfectly sized photo mats for my photos. So let me take you through the closeups and instructions for what I have created. I used the Bits & Pieces stamp no. 229, 4x Stitchlines to stamp the outer edges of my layout. My foundation started with beautiful paper from 49 and Market. Vintage Artistry Sky/Admit One. I mounted it on a piece of 12x12 corrugated cardboard.

I clustered all of the flowers  I created, and added some leaves in different shapes tucked under each cluster. For the rounded leaves, I used the hearts in the Inside or Out dies no. 19, Lucky clover die and painted them with the Piment Colorzz in Olive green. I did the same for the leaves. I used a watered down Piment Colorzz in Light Brown and highlighted all of the leaves. Once they were dry, I shaped them a bit using a ball stylus and a molding mat. I gave each leaf a rounded look. The tiny flowers were created using the Uno die no. 59, Lucky clover. I cut off the tiny stems of each clover and painted them same way I created the larger flowers, but only added 1 stamen to the middle. They make the sweetest flowers ever!!

Here I used  Crea-Nest-Lies XXL dies no. 34, Square with double stitchline to create my photo mats. You can create them in any of the sizes you want. For the photo, I printed it out, and die cut the photos using a smaller die than the middle mat. And used a size 2 larger for the outside mat. I love the stitched lines! There are so many beautiful little sentiment dies. I used 2 different ones to create my title. I used some light brown Pigment Colorzz to paint,   Text Die no. 111 wonderful memories and Text Die no. 114 always remember. I mixed some Gel Medium with Medium Brown Pigment Colorzz and added some art stones and using a paint brush I painted them onto the background around the main cluster.

For the flowers, I die cut a bunch of the large Clovers using the Crealies Watercolor Paper. . I used 2 die cut clovers to create each flower. I cut off the little stems on each clover, and made a small slit in-between each of the 4 petals making sure you do not go all the way to the middle of the clover. I laid them flat on my glass matt, sprayed them lightly with water, and using the light brown pigment mixed in a little water, painted the flowers. I used the middle brown, and touched up some of the clovers, then used the dark brown for the very tips of each petal. I then scrunched up each flower around the top handle of a thin paint brush and let them dry.
I opened up the dried flowers and using 2 pieces, stacked one on top of the other staggering the flower petals. I poked a hole in the middle, and pulled a few stamen through the hole and used hot glue on the bottom of the flower to secure the stamen.

This is a closeup of the photo stack, the sentiments and the floral clusters. I used watered down Pigment Colorzz in Dark Brown to spatter around the cluster.

49 and Market "A Trio of Pop Up Cards"

Hello Beautiful friends. Today I am displaying a Trio of Cards. Pop up cards! I have been playing with pop ups in cards lately, and I loved creating these 3. Each card took less than 1 12x12 piece of patterned  paper. I covered the front, back and insides of a plain white card. Then I used the scraps to create the small photo mats that pop up inside each card, Each of the cards measure 4x5.5. There are many tutorials on creating the pop ups. I chose to use a die cut set by Karen Burniston. I chose 3 different color schemes for my cards. Blue, pink and green. I pulled out the 3 sheets of cardstock I wanted to use, then went through my stash of flowers and pulled out the ones that matched each paper, then found different elements and ephemera to layer on the cards. They came together pretty easily. And how fun it is to open the card and see the little frames pop open!! I did not place photos on the mats, as I will surely give the cards away! I created each card base using heavy white cardstock and my scoreboard.  But you can buy ready made blank cards if you choose. You could even just cut and fold your patterned cardstock. I like the feel of a bulky card in my hand, so I did some layering on the white card stock base.

Here is a closeup of the green card. I love the file frames, as they make the perfect mat for a base. I worked everything else around the file frames.

There are so many possibilities to embellish the pop up frames. Small pieces of ephemera can be used to adorn the squares that will not hold photos. Or you can use photos on all of the frames. Or you can add sentiments or journaling on some, and photos on the rest. It is all up to you. I just thought this was a fun project to use the beautiful papers and embellishments. You could easily use some mixed media technique for more texture on the covers. I wanted to keep them pretty simple because the surprise is on the inside!

Here is a closeup of the flowers on each of the cards. I used a variety from different packs, but adore how they mix and match!

Thanks for joining me today. I hope you are inspired to create your own pop up cards. They don't take much product, but they pack a big punch of creativity!
