Heartfelt Creations Alumni August 2021 Blog Hop

I created a slim line card, because I have been seeing them everywhere!! I never thought I would create anything but a standard sized card, but the Slim Line is so popular now, that it has become one of the new standards! I used heavy cardstock for my card base. I cut a piece of the decorative paper from the clematis 12x12 paper collection, 1/16th shorter all around from the 8.5 x 4 inch card. Just slightly larger than the standard Slim Line card, and adhered it to the cover of my card.  I love the lattice designs on the papers. This one had some of the gorgeous purple Clematis that I love so much! I matched some of my color sprays to the flowers that are printed on the paper. 

Here is a closeup of the flowers and leaves. I adore the Leafy Accent vines. They are fantastic for fillers and tucking under flowers. I used the Sentiment stamp for my title on the card. Underneath I die cut one of the designs from the Elaborate Ovals Frame die, and mounted my sentiment on top of it. I raised it up from the card with some thick pop dots. There was a decorative peice on the end of the ornate frame, so I just cut it off. The frame still looks beautiful! You would never know the peice was even more elaborate!

I love purple Clematis. Instead of ink pads, this time I used spray colors. I sprayed the colors on my glass matt, then added a spritz of water for a watercolor effect. once they were almost dried, I placed them in the 3D mold and ran it through my Bigshot. After they dried, I painted on some thinned decoupage glue and sprinkled on Rajni Chawlas Crystal Clear for sparkle. For the middle of the flowers, I used some yellow construction paper which I cut into very thin strips . I rolled up the strips very tightly using a quill tool, and glued them to the flowers. I poked holes in the centers of the flowers, and pulled it though just a tad. Then I turned the flower upside down and hot glued the middles to the flowers. This secured it so it didn't fall through. I scrunched them a bit once they were secured.

Have you traveled anywhere this year??? Or any other year?? Do you want to document those special travel photo's? Then the Vintage Artistry Anywhere Collection is for you!! Its got gorgeous colors, map patterns, ephemera galore, and you don't want to miss this wonderful collection. Perfect for those Travel Journals as well. I created a 12x12 layout and started following the August sketch for inspiration. But like a lost traveler, I took a different path, and ended up in a beautiful place anyway!! To finish off my layout, I spattered some thinned out white acrylic paint. The 2 papers from the paper pack that I used are Journal Cards and Quest. 

I absolutely love the little vans that remind me of an old VW bus. The couple of different sizes allows for perspective, and it adds to the layout dimension. I cut apart the OVER THE HILLS AND FAR AWAY Rub-ON to follow the lines of the hilly road. I believe some of the Wishing Bubbles I used  on this layout are retired, but there are some still available or you may be able to find these colors by searching the web. 

I added some jute to the tags. You don't even have to put real eyelets through them! I used the Essential Foliage for the leaves. I adhere them with ScoreTape which sticks perfectly! The laser cuts in the collection  are awesome and plentiful. I stacked and layered them throughout the layout. 

The florals I used are the Floral Posies in Mango. The color is delicious! I also added some Wishing Bubbles around the layout in different colors and sizes. You can see the layers I achieved in this layout. I just popped pieces of corrugated cardboard underneath to lift the pieces. I love the string laser cut to wrap around photos. I used it around my stacked laser cuts. I just adhered the ends, and I was able to slip the pieces under the laser cuts to stack them. I also used the Rub-Ons  on each of the sections of film strip. I had backed the filmstrip with a scrap left over from the piece I tore for my background. 

You still have time to enter our monthly sketch challenge. Sketches give you a great starting point when you get into a creative rut. Look at me!! I started with this sketch and it took me on a journey!! I just flipped it around a few times and it got my mojo going!

49 and Market Beached Collection

 Hello There!!! It is another beautiful month of inspiration here at 49 and Market. Today I bring you a beach style layout, created with the gorgeous Vintage Artistry Beached Collection. While I am currently working on a mini album with this same collection, I had to sneak in a 12x12 layout. I simply adore the gorgeous blues and coral colors in this collection. I chose to do a few layers for dimension using the 12x12 and the 6x8 papers. The layers lead up to the gorgeous laser cut window/shutters in the 12x12 collection. I scored the laser cut and bent the shutters slightly inward. If you haven't tried the Rub-Ons, they are a must!! I used the netting in the corners, and the boardwalk leading up to the photo was cut and and rubbed onto each of the 3 layers. It gives a 3 dimensional look as if the stairs were leading right into the photo. I used some Wishing Bubbles in Crush around the page. They match the Mango colored  flowers perfectly. I layered some of the File Frames on each end. I did a little dry brushing on the flowers and leaves, and added some white spatters. 

Here is a closeup of the Royal posies mixed with some of the laser cut flowers. Dont discount older collections, as I used the leaves from the Seaside Collection in this layout. Save all of those bits and pieces, because you never know when you will use them. The title "Beach is a laser cut from the 12x12 collection. I tucked in some cheese cloth to soften the layout. 

 Here is another closeup of  the flowers. The big one is from the Majestic Bouquet in Mango. I mixed in the laser cut flowers and some more of the leaves from the Seaside 12x12 Collection. What a gorgeous color Mango is. Here you can see how much I bent up the shutters. I framed the photo using a cutaway part of the laser cuts. I popped out the flowers that was in the middle, and trimmed around to even out the sides, creating a frame. I use it ALL. I popped it up for dimension.
