Today I created a 12x12 layout. The flowers and leaves are from the Sweet Magnolia Collection, but the paper is from the Climbing Clematis collection! They go together beautifully!! Purple and green is one of my absolute fave color combinations. I chose to lightly color the flowers and leaves as to not take away from the beautiful detail in them. I mixed some distress ink with water, to create a watercolor effect. I spent an hour or so in front of the TV creating the flowers and leaves first, this way all I had to do was arrange them onto the background I created.

I framed the photo using the Royal Elegance Frames die. I used the same patterned paper to layer the frame. Then I matted the photo on top. All of the flowers and leaves were used to frame it all around. I popped the frame from the background by adding a layer of corrugated cardboard underneath both the frame and the photo.

The title for my layout was created with the Royal Elegance die and I added the Today's Quote sentiment to it. So easy to create elegant titles this way. I did a little inking around the edge to have it stand out. I also added a piece of cardboard in between to give it some depth.

I love the Sweet Magnolia Buds! They are so sweet and awesome to use as a filler, or just tuck them in here and there for added beauty.

I love clustering the beautiful flowers and leaves. I placed a rhinestone in the middle of each flower for sparkle. I added Rajni Chawla's Frosting Powder to the leaves and flowers. If you could only see the sparkle in real life that photos can't capture. Once again tucking in the Sweet Magnolia Buds.

" The Best of times" 49 and Market Curators Botanical Collection.

Hello Lovelies. Today I am sharing a layout created with the gorgeous new, Curators Botanical Collection. The papers are gorgeous and wait until you see all of the embellishments! Ephemera pages, ephemera bits, laser cuts, Rub-Ons, remnants, bookplates, shall I go on? It is all so wonderful!! I took a sheet of Botanical-Florilegia and sewed around the perimeter of the paper, then I mounted it to a piece of corrugated cardboard using Mod Podge. I used a stencil and some texture paste around parts of the paper. Then the layering began.

The photo is of my granddaughter, and my sisters grandsons. Their ages are 5, 6, 7, and 8. They were so good in complying with my photoshoot! To offset all of the green in my photo, I decided to use purples for my accent color. The flowers are Garden Petals in Twilight, Royal Posies and Royal Spray in Orchid. The colors are gorgeous. I layered the photo on a Remnant that I machine sewed on, and tucked under a piece of laser cut. The torn page strips are awesome! All torn and laser cut for you! Just pop them out!

The leaves are from the Ephemera Bits, and I did some machine sewing on them as well. Just to give them a little texture. I use a cone thread that I have in an olive color. It matches so many of my 49 and Market collections.

I did a lot of layering for this small section. I mixed and matched from the ephemera bits and laser cuts and.....a tag from the Botanical Tag Set! Tags!!! Complete with eyelets and strings! They are so wonderful!!! So many new products coming from 49 and Market. Your head is going to spin!! And you will fall in love just like I did! Over, and over again.

Stay Tuned. The Design Team is going to dazzle you with all of the gorgeous projects they will be creating in the coming year. You don't want to miss a thing!!

49 and Market Vintage Artistry In the Leaves

Hello Lovelies! A new day, a new year!!! Wait until you see what 49 and Market is bringing to you this year! A feast for your creative hands! I am starting the year off with a layout on canvas, using the Vintage Artistry In The Leaves Collection...BUT..The canvas edges were wrapped with a brand new product. Curators Botanical 4" Washi Tape Roll. Yes 4 inches wide on a roll!!! In a dispenser box!! There will be more designs to come! Coming soon!

After I wrapped the edges with the washi tape, I cut down the In the Leaves/Seasoned paper 2 inches on 2 sides, and I used the 2 inch pieces to create 2 tags. I punched a hole in the tags, added an eyelet and strung through some 49 and Market Single ply jute. I collected some dead branches in the woods behind my house and created a frame around the paper. Then the fun began. Embellishing! I mostly used the laser cuts in the collection for embellishing, and a few little flowers. It is amazing what you can create with just 1 collection and a few extra embellishments. The laser cuts are simply amazing!

I created a couple of offshoots of the branches and hot glued them to the background. I patted on some crackle paste, and after it dried and cracked, I painted on some watered down distress paint in green. I used the laser cut leaves from the collection, shaped them a bit, then added them onto the wood branches. I topped some of the leaves with tiny flowers the Rustic Blooms and Rustic Bouquet collections in Cranberry and Marigold. The flowers are so sweet!

This is a closeup of how I wrapped the canvas with the Washi tape. Once I had it down, I decoupaged it with Mod Podge to seal the layers. I painted on  some of the watered down Distress Ink in Green and browns to match the colors in the layout. I love the bits of moss growing out of the branches. The green is a natural color, and I wanted to keep it that way for a rustic look, but carry it over to the rest of the layout.

I did very little to the mat for the photo. The laser cut was a stand out on its own. I only layered the 2 tags underneath, and cut one of the Battenberg lace laser cuts in half, then used it in 2 different places. I assed the laser cut title "AWESOME", and tucked in flowers and a IN The Leaves Foliage piece. I could resist the photo of the fox which was perfect for this collection.

Thank you for joining me today. I hope that you are inspired to create a layout on canvas.
