Violet Dreams by Lisa Gregory

It may be raining, and the clouds have darken the sky where I am today, but as long as I have my 49 and Market gorgeousness to play with, the sun shines in my heart!! The paper is Misty Breeze is from the new Serendipitous Mini collection. The range of colors in this collection is beautiful. I chose to work with the violets on this layout. My absolute favorite color! I prepped the background with some masking and texture paste, and stamping. The colors in the paper are so beautiful, there was no need to add any more color, except on the masking. I finished the layout off with the sweet Wishing Bubbles in Grape Soda. They really pop off the page (no pun intended!!)

I simply love how the flowers just hug the photo of my grandaughter. She loves chasing dragonflies in the yard, so I had to add the sweet dragonfly from the laser cut sheet of elements. Some of the blue flowers on the layout were originally white. To match some of the blues in the paper, I colored them using Lindy's Stamp Gang spray, and I also colored some in purple using Impasto paint. They match beautifully with the 49 and market Violet Wild Flowers. The matching possibilities are endless with the white flowers.

There are also a couple of the butterflies as well. I love that you can layer the wings and make them look so realistic. I just tucked them both into the floral clusters I created. They add such sweetness to the layout.

This is a closeup of the sweet dragonfly. If you just adhere the body to the page, you can lift the wings and tail to add beautiful dimension. I am requesting more winged creatures in future collections. They are simply magical!!

Thank you for joining me today. I hope you are inspired to create a magical paper garden of your own, using 49 and Market products.

49 and Market "Framed in Flowers"

Hello my lovelies. I hope you are inspired by the beauty, of one of the new 49 and Market mini collections. Ethereal. The collection features soft pinks, peach, soft grey blues,  and a splash of lavender. And lets not forget the laser cuts. Wow...They simply blow me away how gorgeous they look paired with the flowers. I used 2 of the same paper for this layout, showing front and backside, because they are both so beautiful! I split the paper in half and curled back the top, and added eyelets to the bottom, and laced through some 5 ply jute cording.

This closeup features some of the laser cuts mingling with the flowers. They pair and blend so beautifully! I cut one of the flowers in half and tucked both halves on either side of the framed photo. Besides the leafy clusters, there are also single leaves. I crinkle them a bit for a more realistic look, then tucked them under the flowers.

Building layers is so easy and so much fun adding depth to your projects when you use the laser cuts and flowers together. The viney leaves in the Ethereal laser cut collection look so real! They are beautiful! Tuck them here and there and EVERYWHERE!!! Can never have enough greens in your floral clusters. Or butterflies and dragonflies either!!

This is just a close up showing the depth that can be achieved from layering. A little bit of mixed media rounds out the whole layout.

I used eyelets and Jute Cording to tie the ripped peice back together.

Thank you for joining me this week at 49 and Market...
