Pumpkin layout featuring products from Katie Pertiet Designs.

I just had to do another project using Katie Pertiet Designs digital Weathered Market Collection and I paired it with one of Katies new Chippy collections. Today I did a pumpkin layout. I used a pattern from Emelia Creative Studio from her Etsy shop. I just enlarged the pattern, used corrugated cardboard to cut it out, and covered in the gorgeous digital Chippy Foundations Paper Pack 15. This collection has a brick design that is beautiful! I machine stitched the cut out papers before I adhered them to the cardboard. Then I put the pumpkin together except for the stem part. I love the dimension it created.

I hand made all of the leaves and flowers. I die cut the flowers from the purple paper in the Weathered Market collection and the leaves were all die cut from  Elizabeth Craft Design Florals 32 using watercolor paper. The best part was coloring the leaves. I found that Lindys Stamp Gang Magical Shakers Laurel Garden designed by Katie Pertiet, matched the papers perfectly. Once the leaves were colored and shaped, I used Wicked Witch of the Woods to splatter the leaves and highlight the flowers.  I did some layering with the ephemera from the Weathered garden collection. I did a lot of cutting with my Silhouette, because I used the Weathered Market Print and Cut Bundle

The stem was created using the template, but I extended the stem by wrapping brown packing paper around the the template and extending it beyond the top, tapered it by twisting the paper. I painted the finished stem with Lindys Twig It Out from Laurel Garden, and using a bit of Lazing in the Laurels for highlights. I then adhered it to the pumpkin, wrapped it with raffia and a vine twig I purchased at Hobby Lobby in the fall section last year, and finished it with a cluster of more flowers and leaves.

Here is another closeup of the stem. I did have to cut away part of the bottom of the stem before i wrapped it to fit the top of the pumpkin. You could leave it whole, but I wanted to emphasize the shape of the pumpkin.

The frame was created using  printed papers from the Weathered Market Solids collection, and using 2 of my favorite retired Sizzix frame dies. I die cut corrugated cardboard first, then covered it with the printed and die cut paper. I layered both frames for dimension and placed the photo onto the throw away cardboard part, and stuck it back in the spot for a perfect fit.
