Frank Garcia Design 4x6 Team Mini Album...Archivist and Cartographer

I simply love making mini albums!! After all, Frank was one of my inspirations for creating the bases to your mini albums. For me that is the fun part. Although, you can bypass that part, and purchase one of his ready made albums which are fabulous. They are available in many sizes and styles. I decided to do a small mini. This one measures 4x6. To create my base, I used heavy Kraft card stock, and chipboard for the covers and spine. The spine is 1 3/4 wide. Wide enough to fit 8 pages. The collections I used are Cartographer and Archivist both designed by Frank. I simply LOVE how the 2 collections coordinate so well.

I just love the design of this paper, so I left the back without anything covering it, although you could add something of interest like a title in a bookplate.

To adhere my pages to the album, I used Kathy Orta Kings fabulous hidden hinge binging system. For this album I only used 8 pages.

On the inside and on the backside I created a waterfall feature for photo's, quotes, or simply decoration.

Each page is an envelope type sleeve that created out of Kraft card stock. I punched the edge using Martha Stewarts Cherish punch. I added a flower to the middle of the flap. I used the 4x6 journaling note cards to cover the front of  the envelope. I cut it down ever so slightly on all sides to fit each envelope, leaving an 1/8 inch border.

On the inside of each envelope, I created a card with cardstock and adhered the patterned paper to it creating a thick card with a bit of weight.

Here is a view of all of the flaps of the envelopes.

I mixed Archivist and Cartographers flowers for the cover.

Here is the top view of the album. I added 2 large eyelets on the top and 2 on the bottom to string my seam binding.

Here is the dangle I created for the spine of the mini. I adhered some small flowers to the seam binding. I used some jewelry findings in my personal stash and added Memory Hardware to complete it.

This is view of the spine with the mini being slightly open.

Here is a closer look at the dangle.
