Autumn is in the Air...Winter is coming..Blue Fern Studios

Hello Autumn...  I am revealing my  Blue Fern Studios  October projects today. I will start out with a card (I'm learning how to create them!!) that reflects the colors of the season. Autumn is in the air in some parts of the world. Sadly is is not here in Florida. I really miss the cool crisp air and the magnificent colors of Autumn of New York where I grew up.

I used a small piece of the the Chain Link chipboard panel as it reminded me of lattice. I base coated it with gesso and sprayed it with Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Chartreuse. The card was created using BoBunny papers from the Autumn Song Collection.

Here is a close up of the Chain Link chipboard. I just cut it randomly not worrying about cutting a straight line. The flowers were created using Sizzix Susans Garden die, a McGill star punch and BoBunny Double dots paper. I inked the base of the petals using Tim Holtz Distress ink in Fired Brick and after the flowers were assembled I sprayed the flowers using Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Georgia Peach.

I base coated the You Shine words  with white gesso, sprayed it with a Georgia Peach  and topped it with some Tim Holtz Rock Candy  paint to give it a textured sheen .

                                                               The Optimist Word Set

                                                                        Chain Link

My next project is a layout  using a winter photo that was taken in Colorado a couple of years ago while I was away at Swirlydoos Camp.  I kept the colors on the layout in a warm tone, fading out Autumn.

Once the layout was assembled I coated everything with some gesso, including the flowers,

I did a lot of edge distressing using my Distress Zutter. Then I used  small Wilton doilies and tucked them in here and there under the tear outs.

I base coated the Sign Post and Pretty Weeds chipboard with white gesso and sprayed it with Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Georgia Peach while the gesso was still wet. It creats a pretty speckled look when you dry it with a heat tool.

Just a closeup of the post. I added a small acrylic covered sticker inside the Sign Post.
