Lindys Stamp Gang November Colors Blog Post

I wont get to lengthy in words as this post is photo heavy.  I love to create mini albums. I wanted to use neutral colored paper on this one so that no matter what colors I used, it would all shine through. I love how Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays and embossing powders can be used on so many types of materials. Just on the cover of this mini, I used embossing powders and sprays on fabric, wood, paper, and  metal. With beautiful coverage. The November Color Challenge Colors this month are rich, warm and wonderful!! Before  and after I adorned the cover, I sprayed it with A bit O' Bubbly Starburst Spray. That was my base.

For the dollar store frame, (yup $1.00) I removed the backing so that it lay flat on the surface of my cover. I then heat embossed Twilight Blue Silver all over it. I topped it with Tainted Love Teal Starburst spray  and let it settle in the grooves. It gave it kind of  a patina Finish. The wood dragonfly and NOTED word were sprayed with  Red Hot Poker Orange Starburst Spray. All of the flowers were also spayed with  the Red Hot Poker Orange Starburst Spray and A bit O' Bubbly.    

 It is difficult to see in the pictures but I heat embossed Queen Sheba Silver on the edges of the pages. I also heat embossed the clips and charm to match using the same color. 

I created the closure by heat embossing some Tim holtz metal clips with Queen Sheba Silver , attached  a chain (Joanns Fabrics find in the trim isle) with some jump rings and hung  a Prima trinket.

I used Primas Cartographer A4 paper pack. I did use a few pieces from Romance Novel 6x6 paper pack. This is the back of my mini.

For the spine, I adhered some white rose fabric trim (Joanns)  using hot glue. Then I sprayed it with A bit O' Bubbly Starburst Spray. Then just dabbed some Red Hot Poker Orange Starburst Spray here and there. My album  was inspired by Frank Garcias Boheme III mini album for Prima Live. Frank is the designer for the Cartographer line.

I had been hoarding this Prima vine forever. It was a cream color before I sprayed it with Red Hot Poker Orange Starburst Spray. I tucked a few additional flowers in and round the vine.

I wont comment on each page, but I will say the tags, pockets and sliders were all created from the scraps I had after cutting the papers for my pages.

 I created this little slider for pictures or journaling. It is held together loosely with  brad so that it slides out easily.

BoBunny Featured in CREATE magazine

The BoBunny Family and some of the designers had the opportunity to be featured in Create Magazine this month. We created from 4 different sketches. a double layout, a single  layout, a card and a tag.. Let me tell you how fabulously beautiful everyone's creations turned out!!. You have to go see. The sketches are fabulous. So follow this link and get your sketch downloads. I enjoyed working with the sketch, with the best part being the measurements provided. This made the whole creating process so easy.I opted to do the double page layout.

Scrapbook Generations  CREATE  magazine

This is my first time creating a double page layout. It was a lot of fun. I used the Fright Delight paper collection that was perfect for an old Halloween photo of my kids and their friends.
 

 I cut the photo apart and matted the pieces on the base, putting them back together.

I used the chipboard banner in place where the banner is in the sketch!! Perfection!!

I created journaling  strips and found this cute litte poem on the web. (no pun intended!!)

I die cut all of the leaves and created the flowers from the paper using various dies.  They are listed at the end of this post.

Here is another flower cluster I created. 

 I loved all of the embellishments that go along with the paper collections. I made use of quite a  few on this project. Layering them created lots of dimension.



 I mounted the base paper onto cardboard (My new favorite thing!). Then I wet and peeled back the edges and sprayed them with some Lindys Starburst Sprays in a couple of different colors.

2 Layouts and a Gatefold album by Lisa Gregory

Welcome  to November! That  means 3 more designs from me to inspire you from Blue Fern Studios.

For this first layout, I was in a purple kind of mood. I used Ombre Dreams paper in  Joyces Dream. I loved the purple and blue tones in the paper. I did a little masking with molding paste and chose sprays to enhance the colors. I mounted the paper on a piece of corrugated cardboard and did some distressing  around the edges.

Surrounding the photo I used Tattered Diamond Bits chipboard that were sprayed with spray in 2 colors. I also took apart the Organic Vine chipboard and used it in 2 places on the layout.

I took 1 piece from the Gingers Poppies Set and used embossing powder on it. Then I sprayed it with spray for added color and shimmer.

 I tucked some of the Tattered Diamond Bits in between the paper and cardboard in my peekaboo spots around the edges.

For my next layout I wanted to go for the golden theme of Autumn. I used the Montage Collection in Invitation.

I heat embossed gold embossing powder on the Royal Monarchs butterfly. Then I used some German Gold Glass glitter on spots of the wings. Once it was set. I glued on some rhinestones in different colors. It looks like jeweled brooch. This brooch was my inspiration. I didn't want to distract from the beautiful intricate details of the Monarch butterfly, so I only added a few rhinestones.

 I treated the Treasured Floral Frame  the same as in the butterfly.

I heat embossed the Blessings chipboard from the Spiritually Speaking set. 

This next project is a 6x6  Gate Fold album. I found I could use the word cutouts on the inside along with some room for journaling, or photos, or both!

I used the Blue Fern Garden paper collection in Boudoir for the front, back and inside covers.
I am not happy with my plain cover at all...This one will be a redo!!!

The inside tiers were made from a variety of tags, small pictures and wording  from Ombre Dreams and Montage.

 I created 3 tiers to the Gate Fold album. There is plenty of room to add pictures and journaling.

 The backs of each section would be perfect to place small photos.

I added a small clasp closure to keep the album closed. The Spring Frame was heat embossed using  embossing powder. There is a gold undertone that simply shimmers in the powders and the coverage on chip board is amazing!

Lindys Stamp Gang November 2014 Color Challenge

 Welcome to November!! That means there is  new Color Challenge over at Lindys Stamp Gang. If you join us in creating a project, you will have  chance to win a $50.00 Gift Certificate to the store. That's  a lot of shimmer and shine!! There will be 5 winners!! Go check out the details.

This is my layout using the November 2014 Color Challenge MEGA Set.
One of the techniques I use is adhering my base paper to  piece of corrugated cardboard using Mod Podge. This way, my paper doesn't wrinkle or curl under all of the texture mediums, sprays, and inks. (unless I want it to.) It is kind of like creating on canvas.Using n old credit card I spread some gesso onto my base paper, BoBunny Chevron/Dots in Orange Citrus Chevron. Then I used  Prima 12x12 mask and some molding paste for the design. When it dried, I sprayed it with and Red Hot Poker Orange. I love how the glimmer settles in the edges. Fantastic!!

 I started with silk flowers I purchased and pulled off of the stems. I also used a pack of Michaels Recollections flowers. Each one was sprayed using Red Hot Poker Orange, Sweet Violet Purple Teal, and  A bit O' Bubbly.

The Blue Fern Studios Memories chipboard was primed with white gesso, then heat embossed with Terra Cotta Rust Embossing powder.To give the chipboard  luminescent shine I used  little Angel Wings Gold on Top and  heat embossed it s well.

The Blue Fern Studios Roman Clock Chipboard was also primed in white gesso.Then in layers it was heat embossed with Queen Sheba Silver, Twilight Blue Slate and Terra Cotta Rust. I rubbed a few spots with embossing ink and added the Angel Wings Gold.

I die cut the leaves from Kraft card stock. My lovely friend Pascale Bernard mailed me the dies all the way from France!! I sprayed them with Lindys Starburst Spray in Frosty Forest Green, then touched it up a bit using  Tainted Love Teal Starburst Spray.
