Blue Fern Studios July Sketch Challenge...And a self portrait...

It is a new month..And for Blue Fern Studios it means there is a new Monthly Sketch Challenge. The July sketch designed by Michele Singh, is up and it is beautifully inspiring. So whether you  are inspired to follow the sketch exactly, flip it, or just use parts for design elements, come and join us this month and give it a whirl!! This is my version. I used FabScraps Marie Antoinette collection of papers for my layout. The picture is a self portrait that I took at CHA in Chicago last year. My daughter in law Ashley, edited it for me. Looks like an old cross processed film strip. I love the effect!! The lighting in the bathroom was perfect for self portraits!! lol

  Here is the sketch.

The Damask Flourish was painted with Martha Stewart acrylic paint and softly inked on the edges.

I painted all of the chip board the same way to give the layout a more uniform look. They all match like a perfect set. I created the flowers using Donna Salazars Spellbinders Rose Creations die. The middles were done with My Favorite Things Botanical Beauty die and finished off the center with Art Glitter Elements Earth Textures. The leaves are Martha Stewart's  Rose leaf punch. Both flowers and leaves were created with the FabScraps paper, and inked to color.

The small Garden Daisy chip board was painted all the same, then enhanced with the same middles I used for my hand made flowers. The stems were inked in green.

Here is a closeup of the flowers.

For the title I used little letter stickers and the butterfly was printed from one of my files, cut out and inked. I then rubbed some Glossy Accents on it. On the background I used a Prima mask and some texture paste.

Go visit the Blue Ferns Studio Blog to see what the Design Team has done with the sketch. You will surely be inspired. And join us in creating your own version of the sketch. There is an awesome prize Blue Fern Studios will be giving away!! And dont forget to come back on the 3rd for my Blue Fern Studios Blog post where I will reveal 2 more projects using the beautiful chip board.
