Welcome to Swirlydoos' May Kit Reveal Blog Hop Block Party!!

If you came here from  Vicky's blog, then you are on the right track.  If not, go back to Swirlydoos' blog and start from there.  We have some amazing projects for you to see today and as a bonus we have 4 special guests joining in the fun and offering a prize!! There are 6 prize packs up for grabs so make sure to follow along and have fun!!  Also, since May is National Scrapbook month, we are saving some of our projects and will be revealing them all month long.  Make sure tocome back and check our Design Team's blogs to see their wonderful work!!

This layout was done as an inspiration to my daughter who was just about to start her Chef's externship for the last 12 weeks of school, when she got into a car accident. The other driver ran a red light, didn't merge into the merging lane and sent my daughters car spinning on impact. Thank God she had no broken bones, but she has been out of work and school for 1 month. Physical therapy 3 times a week is helping her get better. But she feels like her whole world ended when she thought she lost the dream job she was suppose to start a few days after her accident, she wont graduate with the graduating class, and we have had to find her a car and a new apartment...We keep telling her, things happen for a reason, and everything will be OK...She has a car now (gave her mine and I bought a new car....eeeeehhhhh!!!!!, the Executive Chef at The Rosen Plaza is holding her position till she gets better, and she got a new apartment.) Things are looking up again.
The flowers were created with Donna Salazars Grand Peony Creations die. I thought it was the perfect fit because these are her papers. I layered 2 different sizes crunched and inked them and added a pearl to the center. Easy easy...
The Prima flourish is just gorgeous. It has the colors of an aurora borealis..It shimmers like mad in real life. A file for the butterflies can be found in the forums at Swirlydoos. There are 3 different files to match this kit I used the blue ones and finger painted them with Rock Candy Stickles.
I printed up and cut out the tiny letters for the journaling. The America Crafts letter for OK, are the DIY Thickers. I dusted them with PearlEx powder.

You have until midnight, eastern time, on Monday, May 7th to complete the hop. Winners will be announced on the Swirlydoos Blog on May 8th.  In order to qualify to win here is what you need to do:
1: Visit all of the blogs and leave a comment on each. This way we know you were there. Become a follower if you're not already.Take your time. There are REALLY beautiful things to see along the way.
2: Before you leave each blog, look for the “special” words and write it down.
Once you have visited all the blogs and collected all the special words, they will create a QUESTION.
3: Finally, go back to the Swirlydoos blog and leave a comment letting us know how much fun you had AND tell us the QUESTION that was created with all of the special words you collected AND GIVE US YOUR ANSWERS.

My special word is : IS YOUR

The party continues over at  the very talented Lynne Forsythe's Blog.  Have fun!

Oh honey I am so sorry to hear this happened to your daughter. I am glad she is progressing and that she has such a supportive family around to help her. I have a lot of chronic health issues and it can be wearing, it is nice to have people remind you that everything will be okay and that all happens for a reason.

Your layout was beautiful and so inspiring. I am now following you and can't wait to see what you create next!

Thanks for the chance to blog hop and win!

Happy NSD,

This is really stunning, love the title word strips and such amazing flowers and papers. I hope your daughter starts feeling better both mentally and physically very soon. It's so challenging for kids her age, trying to make their mark in life and then they get thrown such a curve ball! You're a great mom for being the calm steady light in the storm :) I'm sure she appreciates it, even if she doesn't always say it! Have a beautiful evening!

What a coincidence this page and post is....our stories are so similar...since my husband was ran off the highway into a barrier. He is still recovering, however, I keep telling him things will be okay. Our brand new car he frets....I tell him it will be okay. How will I recover from this..."it will be okay". Inspires me to do the same..document our journey and remind him things will be okay. You are still here ...and God bless she is still with you! Beautiful page Lisa!!!
