Heartfelt Creations Alumni Hop September 2021

Hello Lovelies!!! This month, there are TWO opportunities to win a $25 Heartfelt Creations Gift Card. One winner will be randomly chosen from a mystery blog. The other winner will be randomly chosen from the Heartfelt Creations blog. All you have to do is hop, and leave some love on each of the designers blogs. You will surely find some inspiration along the way.

I love sunflowers, and the new collection Rustic Sunflowers is just what I needed to create some awesome projects in the future. Today, I bring you a card created for a friend of mine, who needs a little sunshine in her life right now.

I stamped and die cut the Rustic Sunflowers using black archival ink, added some leafy Accents, and layered the Royal Elegance Frames die onto a card base I created form heavy cardstock. The size of the card is 7x4 inches. I also edged the card with some distress ink to tie the colors together. The Elegance die frame was die cut from heavy cardstock, and the outer lacy area was colored with distress ink. The inner Royal Elegance die cut was cut from a piece of paper from the Climbing Clematis paper collection.

After I colored my flowers and leaves with distress inks, I added some of the Express-Yourself Prills to the centers of the flowers, then added some of Rajni Chawla's Crystal Clear to the petals, to give the card a beautiful brilliance.

I stacked each layer to create some depth. I arranged the flowers and leaves around the stamped sentiment. I really adore the Elegance Frames. You can do so much with each of the dies in the set.

Thank you for joining us this month for this awesome hop!!

Hello beauties...Today I bring to you a layout created with one of the gorgeous designed papers from the Vintage Artistry Peace and Joy 12x12 collection pack. Just one paper in that collection can create the most gorgeous projects! And sometimes simplicity is all you need. I absolutely loved all of the little stars on this paper. I found a Dusty Attic stencil with the perfect sized stars, and used it to compliment the pattern on the paper. I used some texture paste, and before it dried, I sprinkled on some embossing powder. When it dried, I heat embossed it. I die cut a decorative frame from the 6x8 paper collection. I used the Blush/Sage rub-Ons around the perimeter of the layout. I also loosely followed the September sketch once again, borrowing from its fabulous design. And once again, it took on a life of it's own. I just turned the sketch counter clockwise and stretched the design a bit.

Here is a closeup of the beautiful Majestic Bouquet and Royal Posies Tomato Flowers with some of the Botanical Potpourri Bottle Green flowers in classic Christmas colors. The butterfly and tiny seed beads are a Blush/Sage Rub-On, and you can see the texture paint/heat embossed  stars closeup. I did sprinkle in a few shiny confetti stars as well for sparkle and shine. I also used some Wishing Bubbles and Baubles in Sage around the design.

In between each layer on the frame is a piece of corrugated cardboard to lift each layer for dimension. This pops up the photo to be front and center.

The title is from the cutaway part of the 12x12 paper. 49 and Market always has a great design on the cutaway part. I save them all!! The size reminds me of a great big fat washi tape! Save them! You just never know when you will use them. I added some Rub-Ons around the title just for a little interest.

48 and Market "Hugs" featuring Hike More Collection

Hello Beautiful people!! I hope you are safe and tucked away, and creating in your part of the world. This week I bring to you, a new layout using the Vintage Artistry Hike More Collection. I can't get enough of it. I love the woodsy feel with all of the fern, mushrooms, and awesome ephemera. I was working from this months sketch, (turned it sideways) when I decided I wanted to focus on layers. With all of the laser cuts and ephemera, this was the perfect opportunity. There is so much more to this collection. I absolutely adore the fabulous Rub-Ons. They glide on like butter, and the edges are so seamless, they just blend right into the paper. On the background I did just a bit of stenciling using texture paste and a Dusty Attic script stencil. I finished off the layout with a bit of color wash and some spatters. I also machine stitched around the 12x12 paper, and scattered some Wishing Bubbles and Baubles around the page.

You can see the layers I have created going across the page. I machine stitched two of the laser cut frames, used a Vintage Artistry Essentials File Frame as the photo mat, and topped it with a the cute little Vintage Artistry Essential Binder Clip. I cut the laser cut photo reel in half and tucked it under the frame, then I just started adding the laser cuts and ephemera in a line across the page, lifting some of the pieces off of the page by placing pieces of corrugated cardboard underneath.

I loved layering all of the pieces. And when I thought I was done, I found another piece to tuck in somewhere. The little Go Outside flag/banner was perfect for this spot. My granddaughter practically lives outside!! You can do that 24/7 in Florida where the weather is gorgeous all year around. Just check out that sweet little dragonfly!! It is a laser cut from the 6x8 collection.

Just look at those mushrooms!! I love them! The Hike More Collection has plenty of mushroom singles and clusters. There are sweet butterflies, and lots of frames, big and small. I wanted to go minimal on the flowers, and focus more on the greenery. The Sugar Stems in Tutti Frutti are a perfect match.

Thank you for joining me this week. I hope that you are inspired to try the sketch and see where it takes you creatively!! Much love, till next time. xo
