***Inked*** Lisa Gregory June Guest Designer

Hi there, Lisa here with my last post as Guest Designer for Donna Salazar Designs. But it won't be my last post using the wonderful line of products and papers from the fabulous collections I received. I have had an awesome  time getting Girly Grunge with this next project. My daughter has some beautiful works of art inked on her arm. She is definitely the definition of Girly Grunge. She is leather and lace, and all that it implies. I thought the Family Jeans paper collection was perfect for this layout, to show that there is a beautiful soft edge to my tattooed grungy girl. I just love the wood grained patterns in browns and blues in this collection. Some are mixed with swirls and butterflies that soften the  patterns. Throw in some inks and spritzes of color, and Girly Grunge comes to life!!

To get the splats of brown color on the page, on a non stick craft mat, I mixed some smooch, inx and a spritz of water and soaked up a small piece of cotton ball with the color, laid it down on the paper where I wanted the splat and gave it a good whack with the flat top of a magic marker I had.  Lift the cotton ball and admire a perfect splat.

I took different patterns from the 6x6 pad, cut strips of different widths and notched the ends and placed them behind the photo along with some torn and inked punched papers.

I just inked the edges of the alpha chipboard with Mix'd Media  Inxs in Leather. And I tucked some sprightly sprockets under the fold backs of the paper.

I created little layered flowers with the smallest die in the Carnation Creations set, adhered a small pearl in the middle of each of them and popped them along the leafy vines.
Just a closeup of the wonderful textures and colors of the layout. I inked the flowers even more using the Mix'd Media  Inxs in Leather. I find that inking everything on the layout just ties it all together.

It has been an honor and a pleasure and oh so much fun during my Guest Design Spot this month. I look forward to many more hours of creative pleasure working with DSD products. Thank you Donna and Natasha for having me.  I also look forward to the rest of the Guest Designer lineup for 2013 and the works ahead!! And I always xoxo

  4. HI..This is gorgeous! Love the colors and thanks for the tip about the splat, I used a tea bag but of course I broke it when I hit it, but a cotton ball would work much better!!
