Vertical Pocket Mini Album featuring BoBunny Filagree Silver Foil and Carnival

 There are 3 artists I channel when I am creating a mini album. Ginger Ropp (my Sisters Scrapper), Laura Dennison (Following The Paper Trail) and Kathy Orta Files (Paper Phenomenon). All 3 use BoBunny Collections beautifully. So today I am showing you a mini album I designed myself without using a pattern. Just ideas taken from these 3 fabulous artists!! I used the new Carnival Collection along with the new Filagree Foil rub-ons from BoBunny. Carnival is perfect for displaying the photos from the circus, carnivals, festivals and Magic shows.This project is reminiscent of my very first mini done as a BoBunny designer.

On my cover, everything will appear under the Big Top!! I used a piece from the Carnival chip board.
 I added a closure from my stash. I used the Silver Filagree on the cover of the mini.

I also used the rub-ons on the top of the mini. They rub on so well and smoothly. In my own humble opinion, they are the easiest rub-ons I have ever  used, leaving a gorgeous luster.

This is the mini opened up all of the way. I used the foil rub-ons on the inside as well.

 There are 5 envelope style pockets contained in this album. Inside each sleeve is a pull out tag that can be used for photos and journaling.

  I notched out a semicircle on each sleeve using a circle punch . The buttons sit perfectly inside the notch.

 Here is a  view of the tags pulled out of the sleeves. A BoBunny button was placed on the tops of the tags that can be easily grasped and pulled out.

On the inside of the front cover, I have created a waterfall feature. Plenty of room for more photos. On the top side I used patterned paper.

Flipped up, the underside of the water fall cards I used more solid designed papers.

The bit of silver throughout the mini gives it an extra sparkle. This is a view of the mini once it is unclasped.

Here is a side view of the mini closed. I really enjoyed the patterns and design of the Carnival collection.

BoBunny & 3L Blog Hop "Squash Book"

I was browsing Pinterest to see if anything would spark my creativity and there it was. A Squash Book. A WHAT??? Never heard of them before. The more I looked at them, the more I wanted to create one. I have the wonderful Bo Bunny pocket Journaling Cards and thought all of the squares and triangles would be perfect to use in a Squash Book. I was right. And the size was perfect!! What better way to use a few of my favorite adhesives by 3L.There is an adhesive for just about every project.
 For the cover, I popped up the top layer using Dodz Permanent Adhesive Medium in black. The squares come in different sizes and they also come in white color.

This is a view of the squash book from the opening side. To tie my book together, I used some seam binding in a neutral color.

This is a view of the book opened up flat. For the base, I used the Family Record/Heritage paper. You can see I used some of the pocket squares on the non folded sections of the squash book. The parts that fold, I cut the pocket squares on the diagonal before adhering them to the book using EZ Runner permanent strips adhesive roller.I punched out some little flowers and adhered them to the pocket squares using EZ Dots repositional dots. They are small but very strong.

This is a view of the backside of the book. I love the Bo Bunny design the paper. The non folded sections can be used to adhere photos.

This is a view from the top of the squash being folded up.It folds up like a crazy accordion origami style.

This is just another angle to show how the book folds open.Either side of the photo show the front and back cover.

This is a view of the front opening.When opened, you get the view of the pocket squares.

This is a closeup of the cover. I have used Bobunny blooms and actually used the green flower, took apart the layers and created the green leaves. I adhered the flowers using the 3 D Foam squares in white.

Lindys Stamp Gang ***Girls Just Want To Have Fun***....yes we do!!!

 Good day to my wonderful Lindys Lovers!! I want to share a mixed media layout with you today.
I wanted to go all out pink with a touch of gold. I found this gorgeous picture of a cake on Pinterest, fell in love with the flowers on the cake, but then wanted to do the color combo. No matter what color palette you find, Lindy's Stamp Gang is sure to have the colors to match and meet your needs. I found my colors to do this layout.

I started my layout in the usual way. Mounting a piece of background paper on corrugated cardboard for support. I cut up squares of patterned paper and adhered them to the background. Then I brushed Liquitex gesso over the entire layout and let it dry. Over that I  used a Prima Chickenwire mask with Golden Light modeling paste and let it dry completely. I sprayed the layout with water in a couple of places then sprayed over the background using 3 different colors. Raspberry Lemonade Flat Fabio Spray, Alpine Ice Rose Starburst Spray and Bayou Boogie Gold Starburst Spray. I did spray on a bit of Sea Grass Green Starburst Spray, but I must have covered it with my embellishments. I wanted to bring out the leaves in the flowers. There is a bit peeking out. Very subtle.

I have these wonderful pink flowers that I enhanced with Lindys Spray. Alpine Ice Rose is a gorgeous color with an underlying hint of gold. A beautiful shimmery gold. I wish I could capture its beauty in these photos. I did a little stamping on the background once all of my embellies and photo were placed. 

This is a closeup of the little resin frame I found at Joanns Fabrics. You get 2 in the pack for $1.50. They were white and I dry brushed a bit of gesso on them to create a base for my spray. I used the Bayou Boogie  Gold on it when the gesso was dry. When it dried,, I gave it a second coat of spray. I let it settle in the crevices to create a gilded look.You could get the same effect with Lindys embossing powder.

The photo is kind of special.You will see this photo in the near future. (wink) In the photo are 2 of Tracey Plakinger's daughters (Lindys owner) and the other 3 are daughters of Lindys wonderful employees Wendy and Kim. I fell in love with this photo and got permission from Tracey to use it. It was the inspiration for my title on this page.
I mounted the photo on corrugated cardboard and to give it height, I popped it up from the background using bits of corrugated cardboard underneath. I tucked the other frame up in the corner. The edges were rubbed with gesso, then used the Bayou Boogie Gold and Alpine Ice Rose over the edge when the gesso dried.

This is a closeup of the masking and you can see some of the shimmer the Alpine Ice Rose leaves behind. It really is a gorgeous color and one of my favorite  in my ever growing  stash of Lindys Colors. I just love how the gold settled in the crevices of the molding paste. When you spray it on, tip your project back and forth to get the spray to settle in different spots.

Mini Album featuring the BoBunny Forever Young Collection

 If you love the bright colors of summer that remind you of carefree fun and sherbert!!! Then this collection is for you!! BoBunny's Forever Young Collection is fun and funky!! I love to create mini albums, and while playing around with Sizzix Movers & Shapers L Die - Pocket Envelope, I had, an idea came to me. Incorporate it with a Sizzix Movers & Shapers Die - Tag & Tie that fit inside a pocket envelope perfectly, and pair it with the gorgeous colors and patterns of Forever Young, and a Star was born. 5 pockets = 5 pages, 5 tags. Plenty of room for photo's and journaling.

 Here is a closeup of the cover. I used the Pearlescents in Blush to create the pearls around the frame. The flowers are all BoBunny Blossoms in 3 different colors. Love them!!

 
I have a thing for ribbon. I picked out all of the  colors I could find matching the colors in the papers. I have a pretty good collection. I simply tied them to the book rings that bind the mini. BoBunny has quite the choice of Carded Ribbon colors as well.

 
This is what the pockets look like from the opening. Each pocket opening is actually the bottom of the pocket envelope. I just slid a tag in each pocket. 

I die cut extra hole rienforcers from the tag die, and used them to reinforce the holes I created with a Cropadile on the flaps of the pocket envelope. This part would be the flap that covers the envelope, but I left it out to use as the binding space. I placed a reinforcer on the fronts and backs of each page.
 

The next few photos are some of the pages of the insides of the mini. I left room for journaling and photos on each page.

 Here are a couple of photos of the tags. I covered both the front and backs. I used a different pattern from the 6x6 paper pad for each of the tags. I also used the stamps on a few places.

This is the back of the mini. I punched little flowers out from the fruit patterns on the paper and layered each color to get the different colored flowers. I actually cut the Forever Young sign from the throwaway strip of paper at the top of the 12x12 paper. I backed it with a piece of black card stock.

Here is a closeup of the back. I used the Pearlescents to create the little pearls around the entire back.I cut apart the flags banner from a larger piece in the Noteworthy collection.

I hope to spark your creativity with my layout today. A with all of my layouts I mounted a 12x12 patterned paper to a 12x12 piece of corrugated cardboard using Mod Podge. This gives me a wonderful base to work on, kind of like working on canvas. It keeps my paper intact, it doesn't ripple or curl, and if you give it a quick light coat of clear gesso, it is like working on a a piece of canvas. For my layout today, I used the Prima Epiphany Collection. A couple of the Lindys colors were very subtle in the paper, I just kicked it up a notch and BAMM...Color perfection (sorry, my daughter is a chef and I watch Emeril to much!!)

Here is the beautiful palette you get to work with this month!! You only need to use 2 colors for your entry, But I used ALL... I just love coloring my world with Lindys.  To  make it super easy for you, Lindys puts together the color bundles for you every month. You can get the Limited Edition Spray Set, the Limited Edition Embossing powder Set, or the whole Dang Mega set!!!

 I used a few layers for my photo mat. Each layer is mounted on a piece of corrugated cardboard for added dimension. Using a paint palette and a small paint brush, I  mic my colors with added water for a muted watercolor effect, and painted it on each layer. I used a bit of twine and tied it around 2 of the layers for added texture.

  I created the pink flowers using the Sizzix Susans Garden Dogwood die and colored them with Pink Ladies Pink. The middles were painted with Sumer Lovin Sun and then I added a small dot of  BoBunny Pearlescents in Blush. The very tips were painted with Peony Scarlet Red. The smaller flowers were created with an EK Success Daisy punch that I have had forever. I sprayed them with Tilt a Wheel Teal.The leaves were colored with a mixture of Lucky Shamrock Green and Sea Grass Green.

 The Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz dragonfly was stamped twice on Prima patterned paper, the wings were fussy cut from one of the images and both pieces were sprayed and painted with Summer Lovin Sun, Tilt A Wheel Teal, Pink Ladies Pink and Sea Grass Green. I placed the wings over the whole dragonfly piece and curled the wings for dimension.

The tags were die cut from Sizzix Alterations Tim Holtz Tag and Tie die. I applied some Sandra Dee Sepia to a Ranger foam sponge, and applied it to the edges of the tag as well as the hole reinforcer before adhering it to the tag. I tied some twine to the tags.

 Just a closeup of the flowers I created using the Sizzix Dogwood die and colored them with Pink Ladies Pink. The very tips were painted with Peony Scarlet Red. The smaller flowers were created with an EK Success daisy punch that I have had forever. I sprayed them with Tilt a Wheel Teal.

I used Summer Luvin Sun on some cheese cloth to tuck under my layered photo mat.
