Lindy's Stamp Gang June 2015 Color Challenge and New Dusty Attic!!

I wanted to create a canvas for this wall hanging, but didn't have the right size for my A4 Prima Epiphany Paper. So I mounted my paper on a piece of corrugated cardboard using ModPodge. Once it dried, I gave my paper a light coat of clear gesso. That primed the paper to act like canvas. It takes the Lindy's Sprays soooo beautifully!!I really wanted the colors of the Lindy's Stamp Gang June Color Challenge to shine against the muted colors of the paper. And that they did!! I muted the Lindys sprays a bit by spraying them on the background, then spraying on some water over the colors. Where you see pink, I traced around the birdcages and butterfly using the stem of the sprayer then spraying water over it to mute and spread the color a bit, I dabbed it with a tissue to dry.

I have these really pretty Prima flowers that were a light pink color. I changed the color using Cheshire Cat Cherry Starburst Spray. It is a luscious deep rich pink/red color.

I took a smaller paper from the Prima 6x6 pad and cut it down to 3.5x5 and placed it in my printer. I found the quote on Pinerest, copied it into Photoshop, picked the font and size and saved it as a jpeg. I then printed it up on the patterned paper and cut out the words. I edged the words with Pirates Plunder Gold. I adhered the words with glue, then traced around them with a charcoal pencil smudging  it with my fingers a bit. I also fussy  the tiny little butterflies from the paper and adhered them in random places.

The gorgeous Dusty Attic pieces were primed with white gesso. When it dried I applied a generous coat of Croco Crackling paint in white. The Dusty Attic  Hanging Lanterns #2 were sprayed with Pirates Plunder Gold . The part they hang was painted using Steel Shimmer and then topped with Treasure Island Aqua.

The  Spring Blooms #4 was then sprayed with Shabby Turbine Teal. The stems were painted with Treasure Island Aqua, I did use my finger to smear on a bit of Pirates Plunder Gold onto the flower part.

I used 2 Tim holtz Ideology Clips to create an anchor for my wall hanging. I painted on some white gesso on them, then sprayed them with Pirates Plunder Gold After they were in place, I sprayed them a little more.

I took some white seam binding and sprayed it with Pirates Plunder Gold and a tiny bit of Shabby Turbine Teal.  I strung it through the clips and tied a bow.

I really love this quote...We all make our own light. I hope you remember to always turn yours on... xoxo
