January 2015 Heartfelt Creations Alumni Blog Hop and WINNER

The winner is Patricia Arana..You have 72 hours to claim your prize. email Emma Lou with "Winner of January Alumni Hop" in subject line.

New Year, New Inspiration!! Welcome to the 1st Heartfelt Creations Alumni Blog Hop of the 2015. If you arrived here from the very talented Emilia van den Heuvel's  Blog, you're on the right track. I wanted to do a card this month because  have to start building my card stash for the year.
To prepare the background of the card, I used a BoBunny stencil and texture paste. I used the retired Vintage Word Background PreCut Set in random spots. I then sprayed it with Lindys Stamp Gang Starburst spray in Pretty in Pink Pink.

Then I layered the flowers and leaves. For the stamped flowers, I used the now retired Botanical Floral 1 and 2 Precut Sets. The dies that  match the stamps is the Rose Creations die from Spellbinders. The leaves are the Open Leaf PreCut Set with the matching Custom  Design Die Classic Leaf. I added a pearl to the middle of each flower. I sprayed the flowers with Lindys Stamp Gang Starburst Spray in Caribbean Bue. The leaves were colored with Lindys Maidenhair Fern Green.

I used one of the sentiments from the retired 3363 Inspire Me Sentiments PreCut Set. I cut apart the words. The butterfly die cut that I used is also a retired HC die. I tucked the wings here and there on the card.

I really love that the HC stamp sets are so interchangeable. The old and the new coordinate so well! It just  goes to show you that Classic style never goes  away. It also goes to show you, if you see a stamp set you really love, Grab it!! One day it may be retired.
