If you arrived from Alissa's blog, then you are on the right track.
Welcome to the May Heartfelt Creations Alumni Design Team Blog Hop!! I have been playing around with all of my stamps lately, and my Heartfelt Creations stamps and dies are among my favorite. Especially for creating flowers. I created this beach themed layout on a simple piece of white cardstock that I backed with cardboard using Mod Podge. I coated the card board with the Mod Podge using a foam sponge, placed the 12x12 white card stock on the prepared board and used a brayer to smooth it all out. Once it is dried, you have a perfect canvas for your projects. And you can gesso, spray and use molding paste on it and the paper does not warp!! My new way of mounting layouts. Once the backround was sprayed lightly using Lindys Starburst Sprays, I then took my Heartfelt Creations Vintage Word Background PreCut Set, and using black ink, randomly stamped parts of the stamp around the page. I did some spattering with my spray nozzle as well.
For my flowers I used the Majestic Morning Background PreCut Set. I love that there is a Majestic Blooms die to easily die cut all of the flowers on the stamp at the same time. I did hand cut the flowers as I don't have the die yet.
I used Lindys Stamp Gang Starburst spray on the flowers using 3 different colors. Once the flowers were dried, I used my McGill stylus set and foam rubber to shape my flowers and give them dimension. I then layered them and placed a rhinestone in the middle of each one. Some of the flowers have some fine glitter on the edge of the petals for a little sparkle. My daughter spent the day on Honeymoon Island last week and collected some seashells for me to use on my layouts. I used some Lindy's to color the shells to coordinate with the layout. I also sprayed and tucked under the flowers, some gauze.
The chip board I used for my frame is Blue Fern Studios Twilight Garden Frame. I simply sprayed it using Lindys Starburst Spray. I didn't prime the chipboard this time and the spray soaked in and created a rich finish. Unfortunately, the Heartfelt Creations Leafy Swirls stamp I used, is retired. But they have many other beautiful leaf stamps and dies to match.
