Autumn Butterfly ***Splash Of Color*** Guest Designer

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Splash Of Color, Cheryl Mezzetti and Lynne Forsythe for believing in my work and inviting me to Guest Design here. Thank you for allowing me to represent Splash Of Color products. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed my time there and working with the wonderful products.
I chose to use Kraft paper again to represent one of the colors of Autumn. Once those brilliant colors of fall are gone, the leaves turn the color of Kraft...Still a beautiful color in nature.

Autumn Butterfly sm

I decided to mix store bought and my handmade flowers. But I kissed the store bought flowers as well, with the Viva Colour Inka Gold Metallic Rub in gold. It made them blend in nicely with my handmade flowers. I used the Spellbinders Donna Salazar Grand Peonies die to create my flowers. The smaller yellow buds were die cut from my Sizzix Tattered Florals die. Still one of my favorite dies.

I dotted the die cut frame using the Viva colour Peral Pen in Copper Pearl. The pens make gorgeous pearl dots!!! They look like tiny little rivets!! I have a file of butterflies, and I printed a few up on thick white cardstock. I found Silks Acrylics in colors close to the ones on the butterfly and painted over them to enhance the colors. Since the colors are brilliant but sheer, one coat was enough to let the details of the butterflies shine through and still leave agorgeous shimmery color. For this particluar butterfly, I used Silks in Fire Opal. I went over the antennae with the Viva Pearl Pen in Copper.

Here is a closeup of the little die cut florals. I painted them with Luminarte Silks Acrylic Glaze in Yellow Rose, Apricot Nectar and Plumaria. For the stems I used Silks Acrylic Glaze in Olive Vine with a touch of Pretty Peridot.

My hand made flowers were die cut using a thick white cardstock. They were then painted with Silks Apricot Nectar and Plumeria with a touch of Love Struck. The stamen were puched out and rubbed with Viva Inka Glod metallic Rub. The pearls in the center were also rubbed with the Metallic Gold.

I am usually a 1 photo layout kind of girl, but I fell in love with the frames I created from 2 Sizzix dies, that I had to make 2 for the layout! It was those Pearl Pens!!  I wanted to make more pearl dots!

Just another closeup of the flower I dressed up with Inka Gold.

I created a file for the scrabble tiles. I printed the file up on a 5x7 peice of Kraft card stock and cut out the individual letters. Then I edged each one with Inka Gold Metallic Rub in Copper.

Here is the file to save and print up for your personal use. I used a 5x7 piece of Kraft to print mine up for this particular layout.
