Lindy's Stamp Gang Color Challenge ***Happy National Scrabooking Day!!!!***

It's May!!!! That means Lindy's is revealing the designers projects for The Color Challenge!! I get to debut mine on my most favorite day of the year!! National Scrapbooking Day!! Woo Hoo!!! I have been on a mini album kick lately, but I just had to splash paint and spritz on color, so I created this layout. I did this for a dear friend who sent me a photo of her mom. This months colors were perfect to compliment the photo.

This is a closeup to show you the dimension of the layering I did. Just a few strategically placed scrap papers ont he background gave me the base of the layout. The frame is a wooden embellishment that I picked up at Joanns for 50 cents. But with the addition of Lindy's Embossing powder in  Morning Glory Azure  it looks like a million bucks!. I love the 2 toned affect the embossing powders have.

The Cherish title is from Dusty Attic Word Pack #4 set . I primed it with  white gesso and then sprayed it with  Frenchy's Pink Pouf Flat Fabios white the gesso was still tacky.

The dragonfly is a Stampers Anonymous stamp that I stamped and cut twice. The wing section was cut from one of the images and after painted, I placed them  under the whole stamped image giving the wings dimension. To color the dragonfly I used Frenchys Pink Pouf Flat Fabios, Ocean Breeze Blue Flat Fabios spray and Clam Bake Beige Starburst Spray.

The blue Prima Flower was actually pink. I love these flowers but only have pink left. So I covered it with gesso, let it dry and spayed it with Ocean Breeze Blue Flat Fabios spray.. Wouldn't you know I added some pink back, by painting on some Frenchys Pink Pouf!!! Go figure...I love how they came out!!! The smaller pink flowers I die cut from white card stock and sprayed with Frenchys Pink Pouf. The leaves were also die cut and sprayed with Lucky Shamrock Green Starburst Spray and then a bit of Ocean Breeze Blue was stroked on with a paint brush to highlight the blue in the spray.

This is just a closeup of the flower. You can see the gorgeous shimmer of the embossing powder on the frame.

The background was textured using a Prima stencil and some texture paste. I also added a few bits of fabric trim. Once it was dry, using a  large paint brush, I sprayed some of the sprays in a plastic paint palette and watered them down a bit more for a water color effect, then randomly started painting the background. I did spray a few places and spattered in other areas. I love mixed media. And Lindys makes it beautiful!!
