Swirlydoos Bella Volo...Beautiful Flight

It is reveal day over at Swirlydoos. Krissy has outdone her self wit the kit and all of the add ons. The designers have out done them selves with their creativity and Bo bunny has outdone themselves with the Gabrielle Collection and the subscribers are Happy Campers!!! Swirlydoos gets the chance to work with these gorgeous papers this month. There are a bunch of tutorials on altering chip board as Swirlydoos has partnered with Dusty Attic in a big Contest. CHIP BOARD PALOOZA!! The prizes are awesome!! Check it out here!!
On a personal note, my dear Mother in law who passed away just 2 weeks ago, would have loved this collection. She loved butterflies, So in her honor, I have created a few of the LO's with some of her beautiful pictures. She left me the family albums. Hundreds of pictures all for my scrapping pleasure. I dedicate this post to her. May she have a Bella Volo with the Angels above...

This month at Swirlydoos we are pairing with Dusty Attic in a Chipboard Palooza Contest. Krissy has also created 3 video tutorials on how to finish raw chipboard. On the DA gate, I used Lindy's Stamp Gang Magical Micas that was included in awesome Chipboard techniques kit. It gave the gate a gorgeous sheen and sparkle . And check out Camilla's tutorial on using these wonderful Mica powders to alter chipboard!!

Gorgeous Prima Flowers always dress up your layouts. Blue was one of my MIL favorite colors.
Closer view of the gate.
Prima and Petaloo flowers always pair nicely.

The phot is my Mother In Law and her best friend Marie on Marie's wedding day 1952. They remained best friends since childhood and it broke my MLI's heart when Marie passed away last year. Hope they are wooping it up with the angles right now!!
Love the gorgeous flowers in the main kit. They were shaped and bent and flattened the way I wanted them
The journaling cards in the kit came on a sheet. They are so beautiful.

I used Tim Holtz Crackle distress paint on the chipboard and rubbed some chalk ink over it with my finger when it dried. It settles into the cracks easily this way.

This is another pic of my Mother In Law in her younger days. She was a beautiful full figured beauty. Curves that use to drive my Father In Law crazy!! Shhhhh...On a another personal note, after the service in my home, I had a my sofa table set on the foyer of my home with all of her pictures from youth till present. He picked up her highschool graduation photo in the frame and said, 'You know, she was damn good lookin broad!" OMG...I bet she would have smacked him for that comment!!! But it really is a term of endearment. He loves her so...still...
Close up of my Swirly Hibiscus Flowers. I used Glimmer Mist in Rum Raisin to color the cream card stock and lightly inked it in Olive. The flourishes are a Sizzix die. The leaves a Martha Stewart punch. I also misted the little roses in the kit to match the larger flower.

Love love, my new Martha Stewart Deep Edge Garden Gate punch. I also did some machine sewing around the page.
The title letters are Thickers from the kit. The smaller letters I printed up in Microsoft Word.
Another close up of the flowers.

LinkThis is one of my favorite pictures of my daughter. She just looks so serene and reflective in this picture. She has always been a pretty happy kid. She always shines an it comes through. Learn how I transformed the ordinary picture to extraordinary with Photoshop in my Smoothing Skin tutorial over at Swirlydoos. Make the eyes sparkle.
I used my Paper Corner Punch Decorative Circles video tutorial on this one. It is a Martha Stewart corner punch. French Scroll. The white Prima flower was Glimmer Misted in Rum Raisin and Coral Reef to match the little Petaloo flowers.
I created a file of the Gabrielle Butterflies in different sizes. All you do is down load the file, print, cut and alter as you please. I just used Rock Candy Stickles all over and touched them with a bit of Icicle for sparkle. For these sizes, I printed them on 5x7 cardstock and used the file that has all peach colored butterflies.

I altered this DA piece as I have in the past using TH Crackle distress paint and rubbed in some chalk ink in Chestnut Roan.

I removed the small beige flower from the Prima Crystals flourish and replaced it with a Petaloo flower.

This has been a very difficult last few weeks for me. The whole family is looking to me for support after my mother in laws death. Just because I am the Executor of her Will and because I am following all of her wishes, and taking in my father in law doesnt make me the strongest one. But I play the part. Deep down inside my heart is aching terribly. I am still numb, burdened with the aftermath of an unexpected death. I take every day one day at a time. Helping everyone to grieve, and making sure my father in law knows that he is not alone. So the title of this LO is Frail Blue Wings. Because that describes me at the moment. The title comes from one of my favorite Joyce Kilmer Quotes..."The air is like a butterfly, With frail blue wings, The happy earth looks at the sky, And sings.

Another Butterfly from files I have created. this image came from one of my Websters Pages papers. Click here for the file.
The photo was created in Photoshop using Holly McCaig digital frames. I printed it on 5x7 paper, then cut out the frame.
Same Title treatment as explained earlier.
Close up of one of the beautiful journaling cards. It has the Joyce Kilmer quote I love. The Prima swirl was broken apart and used in 2 different LO's.

My last LO has a bunch of different elements for the do it yourself scrapper.
I used my Tim Holtz Tattered Floral die to create this flower. I misted it in GM Trunk Bay, another new fave color for me. I inked it lightly in olive chalk ink.
The title is my name created with the Faux Scrabble Letters Tutorial I did. To get the smaller letters I printed up the files on 5x7 cardstock.
Close up of cluster. The leaves are a stamp from Heartfelt Creations. misted with 2 different Glimmer Mist colors.
LinkAnother beautiful journaling card that I wrapped using my Vintage Seam Binding Ribbon tutorial.
I used Glimmer Mist in Rum Raisin to dye it...

I know this was a long post as I managed to get 6 LO's done. I dont know how...But I did. I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I had fun creating them.
