49 and Market...Vintage Artistry and "Flight of the Butterfly"

Hello lovelies. This week I bring to you the layout I created using Vintage Artistry. I love everything botanical. Especially when it has butterflies!! This collection just reminded me of a walk in the forest. I had to create a rustic feel to the layout, so I mounted the paper on a piece of corrugated cardboard and then peeled back the edges and painted them with white gesso. I tucked some small flowers into the torn parts. I love all of the elements in the flower pack, The fern, the paper curls and the berry stems complete the floral clusters on the layout. I saved the wreath for another project. I added a bit of stenciling with texture paste, and a light spray of color just to enhance the beauty of the paper.

I took apart a small resin photo frame from Michaels and a small resin frame from the dollar store and painted it with gesso. I used some Lindys Stamp Gang spray to match the beautiful colors in the paper and flowers. The flowers are incredibly beautiful. I used Seaside Blooms in Aloe.  I framed the image of the butterfly in the paper using the smaller resin frame.

I simply love the vintage looking butterflies on the papers. This piece came from the 6x6 paper pack. Whenever you get the 12x12 papers, if there is a 6x6 paper pack, grab it!! It is perfect for the smaller touches on your projects, that add a big impact! I mounted it on cardboard using the same technique as in the large 12x12 piece. I added some cardboard underneath before adhering it to the background to give it height and dimension. I fussy cut some of the butterflies, painted them with clear crackle paste, spread on some Stickles for sparkle, and adhered them to the layout by the body only. Lift the wings for dimension.

Have a beautiful day!!!
