Dusty Attic March 2016 Mood Board Challenge.

Hello Dusty Attic Lovers. I  bring to you, this sweet layout inspired by our Mood Board this month. The very touch of pink in the March Moodboard, swimming in a sea of neutral colors, simply caught my eye. I had to make the pink pop!! I chose a paper collection with very little color, but gorgeous pattern. Epiphany by Prima Marketing. It was the perfect backdrop to showcase the gorgeous Dusty Attic chipboard and blooms.

I die cut the spiral roses using paper from the 6x6 Epiphany paper pad and sprayed them with Lindy's Stamp Gang Salt Water Taffy Starburst. I also sprayed the Dusty Attic blooms with the same color. I soaked the Spring Blooms #4 in some water, peeled the layers back a bit to give it dimension, wrinkled them up a bit and dried them. I gave them a spritz of Lindy's Stamp Gang South Shore Sand spray, flecked a bit of watered down white gesso onto it,  and topped the middles with some pearls.

I used the single blooms in the Spring Bloom set and did the same technique with them.

I cut the word cherish between the R and the I to adhere it beside the frame.

The Vintage Frame #2 is simply divine. I primed it with gesso, then added a thick coating of Viva Crackle paint. Once it was dried, I sprayed it with Lindy's South Shore Sand Flat Fabio spray. The color settled in the cracks beautifully.

Here is a closeup of the Elegant Frame where you can see more detail in the crackle technique.

I love how the crackle medium looks on the French Flourish Border chipboard. Like a fine weathered piece of wrought iron.

Lindy's Stamp Gang March Color Challenge Inspiration

It's a great month for a Color Challenge!!! If you had not noticed, every month is a good day for a color challenge with Lindy's Stamp Gang!! The colors this month are some of my favorite combinations. Blues, pinks, browns. Love them!! I created photo book that can hold multiple photo's and cards for journaling. I love flowers and butterflies and had to incorporate both on the cover. Once the whole album was done, I sprayed it with Creme Brulee Cream Starburst Spray. It gave it a light golden sparkle to the entire cover. If you have ever followed Ginger Ropp {My Sisters Scrapper) on her You Tube Channel, then you know why I am hooked on created mini's. She is simply phenomenal, and such an inspiration for me! I followed her Waterfall Folio tutorial.

Lindy's embossing powder can be applied to just about anything. I painted the metal key with white gesso, sprayed it with Sandra Dee Sepia Flat Fabio Spray, then heat embossed some Midnight Bronze Embossing Spray  in random spots on the key. I added the rhinestone to dress it up a bit, and match the gorgeous pink in the flowers and ribbon. The leaves were die cut and sprayed with Time Travel Teal Starburst Spray and toned down with a bit of Sandra Dee Sepia Flat Fabio.

The flowers were sprayed with Sandra Dee Sepia and Plumeria Pink  Flat Fabio. They are just plain white flowers I stripped from a silk flower stem, I purchased at Hobby Lobby.

I tied the album together using ribbon that I sprayed with Plumeria Pink Flat Fabio spray.

Here is a close up of the ribbon. It is silk ribbon that started off a light beige color. Silk soaks up the color beautifully and leaves it soft and subtle. Unlike other sprays that can leave the ribbon stiff.

This is the inside of the photo album. I picked papers in my stash to match the colors in the color challenge. This is DCWV, the Happy Day Stack. The colors and patterns are beautiful! I fussy cut the page with the frames and popped them up on some of the pages.

I also found butterflies in my collection that matched the colors and just enhanced the pinks a bit by painting them with Plumeria Pink Flat Fabio. Once it was dried, I covered the butterflies with Clear Crackle medium which made the colors vibrant. The frame started out a silver color. I painted it with white gesso, sprayed it with Sandra Dee Sepia Flat Fabio Spray, then heat embossed it with the Midnight Bronze embossing powder. It came out beautiful!! Lindys embossing powders are simply luxurious.

I used a Dusty Attic Chipboard and simply heat embossed it with Midnight Bronze embossing powder. No priming needed. I love the 2 toned effect the embossing powders have .

This is just a close up of the waterfall feature. There is plenty of room for photo's. You can use both the front and the back of each page.

Why don't you give it a shot at the March Color Challenge this month. You could win a $50.00 Gift certificate to the Lindy's Stamp Gang Store!!

Amazing Moments and Lindy's Stamp Gang.

Hello Lindy's Lovers! Lisa here with another project that I hope will inspire you to antique a project. Sometimes I want to do pastels, sometimes I love deep rich colors, and sometimes I love a little antique vintage feel to my pages, as I did with this layout.
I started by adhering my paper to a piece of corrugated cardboard and roughing up the edges a bit. I used texture paste and a mask in a diagonal design. I brushed on a bit of Art Basics Soft Matte Gel and after it dried, I sprayed the background slightly with water, then while still wet, used Tainted Love Teal, Whale Watch Blue and South Shore Sand on the page. The exposed corrugated cardboard was sprayed with Sandra Dee Sepia.

The frames were die cut from corrugated cardboard, sprayed with Sandra Dee Sepia, then Midnight Bronze Obsidian Embossing powder was applied and heat set. It left a tortoise shell like finish. I just love it!!

All of the flowers were handcrafted and sprayed with South Shore Sand, Tainted Love Teal and Maiden hair Green. . Once they were dried I gave them a light spritz of South Shore Sand to "antique" them . It toned down the brighter colors and appeared like tea stains in some parts.

The Dusty Attic Title was also sprayed with Sandra Dee Sepia, then Midnight Bronze Obsidian Embossing powder was applied and heat embossed. The finish is amazing!! And Lindy's embossing powders are like no other. They are 2 toned. How cool is that!

This is a closeup of the textured and sprayed paper background. I used Art Basics light texture paste for a softer feel. I like that it is translucent in parts, depending on how much you apply pressure when spreading it on. Prima masks/stencils are simply fabulous! I used one for this layout.

To create the middles of the daisy like flowers, I used Art Basics soft matte gel, mixed in a tiny bit of Magicals in Glory of the Seas Gold from the Drink Me Silly set, then added the Art Basics glass beads. Amazing stuff!! Amazing texture, amazing the way it just soaks up the Magicals and distributes the color incredibly.

Thank you for joining me this week. I hope you give one of your next projects an antique vintage feel, just with a tea stained colored spray. Sandra Dee Sepia and South Shore Sand are just a couple of colors perfect for the job!!

xoxo

Frank Garcia Design Team * Tales Of You And Me * Layout

Tales Of You And Me...Frank Garcia's lovely collection for Prima Marketing, is Romantic, sweet and oh soooo beautiful!! I also found it to be shabby chic and the perfect collection to do projects that will use my grandaughters photo's. I wanted to create a magical floral garden like layout. My granddaughters name is Charlotte Rose. I wanted roses. Tales Of You And Me features roses.

Because I didn't have any of the matching floral embellishments for Tales of You and Me yet, I had to improvise. Well, that is oh so easy when it comes to making flowers for me. Rolled roses and layers of petals die cut from the Tales Of You and Me papers worked out perfectly.  The larger leaves are Prima Dies - Forest Leaves 58409 and sprayed with Lime Wedge Color Blooms spray. Of course there are MANY Prima flowers that match these papers, but I wanted to stay with Franks line for this layout.

I even used  Cartographer Flower- Navigator 574499 and sprayed them with Color Bloom - Sultry Shimmer Peony 573904 to match the rest of the layout. The color was perfect. Shimmery gold undertones make them rich looking.

I hand cut the rolled roses using a deco edge scissors so that the roses would have a little bit of dimensional texture. I always save scraps larger than 2x2 because they are great for flowers like these. They are so easy to create and don't take that much time to put together. Cut, roll and glue...done...

I die cut some butterflies from a Sizzix die, and layered 2 of them together, flufffed the wings and adhered 2 of them to the layout.

This is just another view and closeup of the flowers that I created from the leftover paper, and gave it a very light spray of Color Blooms spray in Peony.

I created a few layers and popped them off of the page for dimension. I die cut  Prima Dies - Parisian Lace 584047 and tucked a couple here and there. I even found a Fiskars edge die that matched the scallop on the doily die. I used strips for the inner edge of the layout.

Thank you for joining me today to see the details and closeups of my layout. Now go find some Tales Of You and Me and start creating that next gorgeous project!! You will NOT be disappointed!!
