Lindy's Stamp Gang February 2016 Color Challenge

Welcome to the Lindy's Stamp Gang February Color Challenge. Purple and Pink and Green..Oh my...3 of my favorite colors in the palette this month. Oh heck. Add Orange and Blue to my list  as well. Love them all. I opted to use 4 of the 5 colors, and the majority of my She Art Canvas was colored using Magicals. Magicals are the most incredibly beautiful pigment powders that you can use in a variety of ways. Lets take a closer look...
I primed my canvas using a heavy coat of white gesso. I added some texture using texture paste and some masking with 2 of Dusty Attics new stencils. . Once it was dry, I gave it a light spritz of water, then sprayed Jazzy Jivin Purple, Hottie Patottie Hot Pink and a touch of  Tears on my Pillow Tangerine, The spray of water before hand, lets the sprays run like watercolor and blend beautifully.
Scraps of Darkness/Scraps of Elegance hosts an exchange/swap, and Jan/Feb was creating a small canvas. This one was created  for my swap partner Shanon. I hope she likes it.

Everything else on the canvas was colored using Magicals. The flowers were all handmade using white card stock. Once the flower layers  were punched out, Magicals were mixed with gel medium and the flowers were painted using a paint brush. You control the intensity with the amount of powder you mix into the gel. The color is so intense, you only need a tiny bit of Magicals powder.

My doll stamp was cut out then painted with the Magicals. The tiniest bit of Tears on my Pillow Tangerine Magicals, in gel medium, is almost a flesh color. I used this for the skin tone. Add a bit more powder and I got the color for her headband. Add a touch of Delphinium Turquoise to your color and you get brown for the hair. Her cheeks were colored with Hottie Patottie Hot Pink. Her dress was layered and painted using Jazzy Jivin Purple and Luscious Lime.

All of the butterflies were colored with Tears on My Pillow Tangerine Magicals. I then coated them with a bit of clear crackle paint. I cut a butterfly in half for the girls wings.

I printed up the words, cut them out, and inked the edges.

For the flowers I used, Hottie Patottie Hot Pink and Jazzy Jivin Purple. The die cut leaves were painted with Luscious Lime Flat Magicals.

You can see the dimension of the canvas. I made everything just pop off the page. This would look great in a shadow box as well.

Once the entire canvas was done, I gave it a light spray of Frostbitten Fuschia (part of the Winter Wonderland set). This gave the canvas a gorgeous shimmer with the slightest hint of pink sparkle.  I love the way the color settles into the masked part of the canvas.

Thank you for joining me this week. I hope you join us for the Color Challenge this month. I hope you dip into the Magical's and start coloring your world. Lindy's has the the most gorgeous colors.  Until next time,
xo

Hello Dusty Attic Lovers. Today I bring to you a 5 x 7 mini album that I created. A special mini to place all of those special photos. I created the album using chip board, and I covered it with Dusty Attic Corrugated Card. I love the texture of corrugated cardboard. I painted the cardboard using Mountain Meadow and Pesto Dusty Attic Acrylic paints. To add richness to the colors, I sprayed it with gold mist spray. I love that the Mood Board took me to a different place when choosing my colors. I chose one of the photos on the board that had green in it. Dusty Attic had the perfect colors to create what I envisioned. But that's what an inspiration board does right?? Inspires you to be at your creative best!!

This is a view of the spine. I had a wonderful idea to use a lot of the mini pieces of chipboard. I sprayed them with gold spray, added a jump ring to each one, attached the jump rings to a chain and created a dangle for my mini.  I also sprayed some seam ribbon and tied it to the top of the mini.

Here is a close up of the dangle. I added some rhinestones to some of the pieces for added sparkle.

This is a closeup view of the mini chipboard pieces.  After I sprayed them with gold mist, I wiped away a bit of the spray to give it a worn look.

The mini album is small, but it can still hold up to 4x6 inch photos. It is a chunky mini with 4 inside pocket pages.

Each page holds a pull out page that can hold more photos. You can also add tags to the pockets, or just slide photos into each pocket.

Here is a view of the pull out pocket. I punched the edge with a decorative punch.

This is a view of the back of the album.

This is a close up of the corner of the album. Before I place the flowers on the album. I sprayed the whole album with gold mist. I love how it settled in the crevices of the corrugated card. I added some of the rhinestones to the flourishes.

I sprayed the chipboard with gold spray, then placed some rhinestones on it for extra sparkle.

Thank you for joining me today!! I hope that you are inspired to jump start your creative side using the Inspiration Board!! I know I was!

"Tales Of You and Me" Memory Hardware Journal - Gatefold /Frank Garcia Design Team

Winter CHA has come to a close and the ordering/shipping has begun!! Hopefully Tales of You and Me will be at your fingertips very soon. You really want this gorgeous collection created by my wonderful creative friend  Frank Garcia for Prima Marketing. I am in love, and so lucky to have been invited to the very first Frank Garcia Design Team!! The Memory Hardware that adorns this journal is also incredibly beautiful!! I had a blast creating this mini using The Memory Hardware Journal - Gatefold  created by Frank. There a few different size and types of albums ready for you to adorn. They are all fantastic! This is  the front of the journal. To  prepare the album. I edges all of the edges with Chalk Edger in Vintage Pink. I adhered a brown card stock to all of the  pages including the covers. For the cover, sides and back  I used 12x12 Tales of You & Me-Jardin de Fleurs. For the inside I used a variety of papers from the collection.

Here is a close up of the journal. I die cut a frame from corrugated cardboard sprayed it with Color Blooms in  Empress Gold, cut it in half and adhered it to either side of the front covers. The Memory Hardware - Montmartre Latch was used for the closure.

When you first open the Memory Hardware Journal - Gatefold , this is what you see. I die-cut a frame, sprayed it with Color Bloom - Empress Gold and layered some corrugated cardboard and patterned paper over the top page. I distressed the edges and sprayed the exposed cardboard with the Empress Gold as well.

This is a close up of the die cut frame. I also gave the page a light spray of the Empress Gold.

I added another die cut and sprayed it with the Empress Gold Color Bloom spray and added the Memory Hardware - Louviers Antique Chain and attached them with Memory Hardware - Villeneuve Antique Rings. The sign is free hanging and ready for journaling or a photo. The opposite page has a pocket I created to hold tags and cutouts from 12x12 Tales of You & Me-Contes de Toi et Moi paper.

I created a pocket page on this section as well. All of the tags were die cut and the cutouts were just tucked into the pocket.

I created a vertical waterfall feature using  the cutouts from the 12x12 Tales of You & Me-Contes de Toi et Moi. There is plenty of real estate in this journal for photos and journaling.

When putting the pages together using the patterned paper, I have used the Memory Hardware - Artisan Adhesive Tape. This tape is like no other. It adheres and hold up so well.

On the back of each page, I added a die cut frame for more photos. I sprayed the frames with Empress Gold Color Bloom Spray.

This is how thick the journal is when all closed up.  Three are 6 pages total.

For the spine of the journal, I punched 3 holes on the top and placed eyelets for strength.  I created a dangle for the spine by stringing the Memory Hardware Glass Pearls and a few of my jewelry spacers (from my personal stash) onto an eye-pin. The Memory Hardware - La Rochelle Antique Trinkets are hanging from Memory Hardware - Louviers Antique Chain and I attached them with Memory Hardware - Villeneuve Antique Rings. ONce each dangle was created, I strung them onto the largest ring and placed them through the middle hole I created on the spine.

Here is a close up of the dangles I created.

Here is the back of the journal.
