As long as you stop at each of these blogs and leave a comment, you will be in the running for this randomly-drawn GRAND PRIZE:
Here is my layout. I just fell in love with this Blue Fern Frame. The detail just called for a regal finish.
Not so long ago, Camilla Ekman did a tutorial on how to achieve this finish on chip board. It is really simple and the results are spectacular!! The photo is my daughter in law Ashley. It is a self portrait and she post processed the photo herself. I couldn't wait to use it.
I used a variety of Petaloo flowers on the layout. I just love the yellow color. It reminds me of the Forsythias that use to bloom at my parents home on Long Island. It was like a ray of sunshine on a dreary day when they were in full bloom.
The technique Camilla did a tutorial is quite simple. Just doing sections at a time, the chip board is covered with a light coat of clear glue. While the glue is still wet, sprinkle some Lindy's Stamp Gang Magical Micas on the chipboard. Using a small dry brush, evenly distribute the Mica powder to cover the surface. A little goes a long way. Once the surface is slightly dry, it may still be tacky, spread some Ranger Crackle Accents on the chip board. The Mica powder will come to life!! The color becomes intense and once the Crackle Accent starts to dry, the texture is so yummy!! Like cracked glass.
And do you see all that golden color yumminess on my page!!"" Yup, my new love, Heidi Swapp Color Shine sprays!! I sure hope she comes out with new colors, because 12 colors just isn't enough, and the colors out there already are gorgeous!!
This is the beautiful Blue Fern Frame used in my layout. I hope you will be inspired to try out this new technique on your Blue Fern Chip board pieces.
Now head on over to the very talented Mona Pendletons Blog for some more beautiful inspiration, and enjoy the rest of your journey through the Hop.

I printed up the words on a piece of cream card stock, cut them out and used a little Inka Gold around the edges so that they blended into the photo.

Save The Date!!
We've got one exciting weekend coming up here as
we are having our first Blue Fern Studios Blog Hop!! So write this down as you
DO NOT want to miss out on this- not only are WE going to be giving away some
gorgeous Blue Fern Studios goodies, but there are LOTS more prizes along the
hop, and of course a ton of inspiration from our design team as well! And when you reach my blog, I will have also be giving away some love!!
Butterflies and Vines!!
Yesterday was my
turn to feature some new inspiration for you all on the Blue Fern Studios Blog, and my blog post features 3 of
the beautiful Blue Fern chip board designs.
The first layout features
the Brigitte
Butterfly Set. The set has 3 butterflies. One large and 2 smaller ones. I
chose to use all 3 butterflies on 1 layout. But 1 butterfly would look equally
as sweet on a card or tag.
Here is a closeup of one of the butterflies. The technique I used on the butterfly was pretty easy. I painted the chip board with a white acrylic paint and let it dry. Then I spread some Puffy Paint over the painted surface. While the paint was still wet, I sprayed some Glimmer Mist over the area lightly. After waiting about 30 minutes, I heat set the piece until the paint started to puff up. Once it was dry, I sprayed it with some more Glimmer Mist. I added pearls to create the body.
I used the Blooming Beauty chip board piece for my title. I painted it using Lumiere paint using 2 coats.
I used a beautiul Zva flourish for the butterfly trail and body.
My flowers and leafy vines were created with my new
Sizzix Sizzlits Die - Flower, 3-D & Vine After assembly, I used Puffy Paint and heat set until the paint puffed, then I used Stickles on the leaves to make them sparkle.
For my next
layout, I used the gorgeous Organic
Vine Corner.
I painted the piece with a beige colored acrylic paint and let it dry. I then took an ink pad in green and brushed over the leafy parts of the flourish. Then I took some tiny pearls and randomly placed them on the chip board.
To make the piece stand out even more, I went over it with some Stickles.
The beautiful blue flower is from Zva Creative and the smaller roses are Prima. I created the little leaves from my Martha Stewart Rose Leaf punch.
I love my Spellbinders labels dies. This is one of them topped with a small poly sticker for the journaling.
I tucked some Prima lace and some small Prima roses with my leaves into the small peekaboo tearouts.
Thank you for stopping by to see my work with Blue Fern Studios wonderful product!! Keep watching as this brand new company keeps adding to their inventory. You are going to fall in love with Blue Fern Studios chip board!! I already have.
