It's a Princess Gatefold Album ***Dusty Attic***

This is a Dusty Attic Design Team project for me. It's a Pink Baby Princess kind of day!! I created a mini Gatefold album for a pretty baby princess, who will join us in July/August!! There is lots of room inside for journaling and photos. I wanted the outside cover to take center stage, so what is more fitting than a pink wrought iron gate to enter the world of quips, quotes and photos!! I was inspired to create this mini from a video by the very talented Ginger Ropp aka My  Sisters Scrapper (aka, my mini album hero!!). I used her basic, very easy to follow videos for the base of my mini, then went on a Dusty Attic decorating spree!! CLICK HERE for part 1 of the video.

I painted the gate with Dusty in Colour in Dusty Pink and what a beautiful pink it is. Once the paint dried, I covered it with Clear Crackle Varnish. Wrought iron never looked soooo good!! I colored seam binding, strung it through part of the gates and that is my closure. Just tie it in a pretty bow.

For the spine of the album, I used 2 of the pieces in the Wrought Iron Design set and used the same paint technique as in the gate.I added a button to the middle just for visual color contrast.

The back piece also came from the Wrought Iron Design Set and was colored in the same way as the other pieces.

On the first page upon opening the album, there is an illustration of a tree. I painted the Mini butterflies in different colors to match the papers in the album. All of the colors I used are listed at the end of this post. The Dusty Attic paints are luscious and thick and you only need one coat. I added 2 coats for texture. Each page has a pullout tag to tuck in memories of photos and journaling. I added buttons to the fold of the tags. On the inside of each fold is a waterfall feature that can hold more journaling and photos.

Here are the 6 pages pull out tags. Plenty of room for larger photos.

On either side of the inside covers, I have created a waterfall feature for photos or journaling.

Here is a closeup of the little butterflies.

I tucked some of the Dusty In bloom leaves into my flower sprays. The color is simply perfect!

This is view of the bottom of the album just to show how many pages, and just how chunky this mini will become.
