I started this layout with a piece of black textured card stock. I mounted it on cardboard using Mod Podge. I gave it a good misting with Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst spray in Bayou Boogie Gold. For the patterned papers I used Cartographer designed by my dear friend Frank Garcia.
I wanted an old worn look to the Techno Rings, so I used Lindys in Bayou Boogie Gold, a gold based 2 toned spray to achieve that effect. Very simple but very striking. The photo is an Alex Hardie print. I collect beautiful greeting cards. I just reversed the print and edited it in Photoshop for dramatic details.
I fell in love with the little keys in the Spare Parts set, that reminded me of the ones used to wind up old toys. In my fantasy layout, they are winding up the hot air balloons for flight. I spryed them with the same spray as in the Techno Rings and added splashes of the spray on the entire layout when it was done. It shimmers in real life.
The flowers are Recollections found at Michaels. The leaves are a die cut.
The second layout is my interpretation of the June Sketch Challenge.
Michelle Singe designs some of the prettiest sketches!!!
I didn't want to place to many embellishments on the page as the Rose
Border is so elegant and I didn't want to distract from its beauty. And to add to it's beauty, I used the brand new Lindy's Stamp Gang, Flat Fabios, "Under The Boardwalk" designed by my beautiful talented friend Limor Webber. The colors match Blue Fern Studios Ombre Dreams papers that I used for this layout to perfection.
I primed the chipboard Rose Border with white gesso. Then painted on the Lindy's Flat Fabios with a paint brush. I did about 3 coats to get a pooling effect on the flowers and leaves.
Here is a close up of the Rose Border. I absolutely love the delicate
cuts in this piece.
Here is closeup of the photo. It is of my husband and I on our wedding day and the First Toast to our new life as man and wife. Here we are 29 years later!! And loving each other even more!!
I used one of the new Prima masks for the background of my layout. I used molding paste and before I lifted the mask, sprayed it with Lindys Flat Fabios.
