The photo's on this first LO is of my daughter and a dish she created while attending Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts. Sushi. Who would have thought that being classically trained in French Cuisine that you would learn how to make sushi. But my daughter reminds me that in her International Cuisine semester, French technique is the basis of all cooking. And the majority of your famous chefs, learned the same way. And let me tell ya, this girl can cook!!! The background paper was punched using a Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page set and offset with another edge punch.

I chose the book page in the kit and it turned out to be the inspiration for this page. I die cut the Cheery Lynne vines from the add on card stock in the kit, and the flowers are a mix of Petaloo and Prima.

I die cut the small photo and frame of my daughter using a Spellbinders Nestabilities die Scalloped Circles. The title is from the tiny letter stickers in the kit. The LO started as the sketch that goes with this kit, then it took on a life of it's own. The other photo is a a pic of the beautiful sushi tray Gabbie created. I was so impressed by the Salmon roses. Beautiful and edible!!

This next layout is also a tribute to my daughter. She has worked so hard and overcame so many obstacles in the last 2 years getting through college. She move 3000 miles away for the first year and did it all on her own. Now she is closer to home, only about 150 miles away, but still on her own. When things didn't go right, instead of giving up, she tried a different way of doing them. That's my girl!! The Optimist!! I used the cards in the kit and created tags out of them, adding eyelets and string.

The journaling was created in Photoshop CS5 and then printed out, cut up, and inked. The frames are a Sizzix Die cut. For stability, I die cut them using card stock and backed them with chip board. It makes the perfect frame. I love my Vagabond!!

The flowers in this set are just so beautiful. I love the rustic colors.

This next layout is the one I did for Anatomy of A Layout. Because I wont be home until late tomorrow night, I wont be posting the directions on Swirlydoos until after 8pm. So be sure to check out the tutorial on this page. My design Inspiration came from the March 1st Once Upon a Sketch. The journaling had to be about me. I didn't make the deadline due to conflicting reveal dates, but I loved the inspiration!!

The bonus in the Anatomy tutorial is that I will be posting the tutorial on making the flowers as well. They are very easy and easily adaptable to any flower dies you may have. The leaves were die cut with one of my favorite Spellbinders dies using the gorgeous green velvet paper in the kit.

Once again, I created the journaling pieces in Photoshop CS5, but you could use any word program to do it as well. The butterflies are another file I created for this kit, and I added the sweet rhinestone trim for the bodies. check out the file on this page.
