Dusty Attic Discover Layout

Hello friends, Lisa here to share another layout using the gorgeous March Mood Board. I chose to use just about all of the colors in it for my layout, and  it morphed into a color frenzy.  I guess that is what inspiration does for you. It gets your mojo going. But that's good!!! Right?? Here is the March Mood Board. Why don't you try and see what it does for you!! The colors in each board, every month, will surely inspire you to create. The colors for me, have the lush feel of spring on the verge of summer. It is simply splashed in gorgeous color.

In Florida, we have the beautiful little hummingbird. I found this photo on Pinterest and fell in love with it. I used a piece from the String Set chipboard as a frame because it reminded me of  the beginnings of a nest. I painted it with Dusty Attic Colour in Raisin, then sprayed it with Lindys Stamp Gang Moonlit Mulberry MoonShadow Spray. It was a perfect match and added that bit of drama to the piece.

I created the blue flowers from die cutting patterned paper, then watered down some Denim paint and just lightly brushed it over the petals. I made the nest with Spanish moss and moss purchased at Joanns. The tiny eggs which are the true size of hummingbird eggs were created with Fimo Clay and painted with  Oceania. The Dusty Attic Soot colour was watered down a bit and using a toothbrush, I flecked the black paint on them for a speckled look. 

I clustered some Dusty blooms with my handmade blooms. The leaves are also from Dusty Attic.

The Ornate Corner was treated the same way the String chipboard was done.

Here is a closeup of one of the curled back ends showing the mix of flowers. I wanted the blue flowers to have a painterly feel. Like watercolors.

The word Discover, taken from the Words #3 pack was treated the same way as the other pieces.

Finally, this is just a closeup of the photo and frame. I die cut some tags to place behind the framed photo.

A4 sized Layout

 Sometimes you may just want to create outside of the box. I have a lot of A4 paper pads that I usually use for cards or mini albums. I decided to create an A4 sized layout. I love how the Dusty Attic pieces just about fill up the page. I also decided to use  both the positive and the negative pieces of the Brick Panel set. I wanted to create a glimpse of a garden climbing over a brick wall. Some gardens should not be contained! So take a peek out beyond your walls. You never know what you will find. The world is a garden!!

The frame was treated with a coat of Dusty Attic Hot Chocolate paint, and after it dried, I coated it with a generous layer of Crackle Varnish. When the varnish dried and crackled, I gave it a quick spritz of Lindys Stamp Gang Starburst Spray in Mission Bells Brown, and let it settle in the cracks for a gilded look.

 I split the title into 2 parts on the layout, which brings the framed  photo into main focus. I created the quote in Photoshop, printed it up on patterned paper and cut out the words. I arranged them on the layout sing a small piece of chipboard underneath to lift them off the page.

 I clustered and tucked the flowers over the bricks diagonally to soften and break up the straight lines in the layout.

The brick panel was treated with a coat of Lindys Stamp Gang Spray Flat Fabios  in Sandra Dee Sepia over the raw chipboard. Before it dried, I sprayed it with some  Lindys Stamp Gang Spray Starburst Spray in  Mission Bells Brown.

BoBunny "Safari"..Layout

One of the newest collections from BoBunny is called Safari. It is perfect for creating those projects with photos from trips to the zoo, petting zoo's, the aquarium, African Safari's and even scrapping those "ferocious" pets that roam our domestic domain!!! In this case, it is exactly what I did. My "wild beasts" names are Willow (Moo-Moo) and Bentley. Once a week I give them tuna fish. Between the 2, they split a can, eat it all, then fall into what we call a "Tuna Coma". They sleep sleep sleep, and when awake, they don't move from their respective spots. It is funny.

The flowers were die cut using a Sizzix Black-Eyed Susan die. I layered about 3 layers for each flower. I rolled a thin strip of patterned paper tightly using my quilling tool, creating a circle for the middle. Then I used the tiny stars included in the die and adhered 4 or 5 to each middle. I fussy cut the leaves from the Safari Palms paper, and tucked them under my floral clusters.

The Safari Jungle paper was pieced under my cut outs from the Safari paper I used for the background. I just ripped and curled the edges back. I inked the edges of the curls. The Aquarium sign was created from a Safari Noteworthy piece that was mounted on corrugated cardboard for dimension. I used the brick stamp from the Wall to Wall stamp set in various places.

I used a Sizzix die for the frames.  I layered the frames lightly and used the floral clusters around the frames.  Creating a kind of jungle look. I used different patterns from the 6x6 paper pad.

 
I love the all of the signs on the background paper and didn't want to cover them, so I worked around them. I did some tearing and tucking around the layout. To create the fringy leaves, I used scraps, hand cut the leaves and then just fringe cut them with scissors.

This is a closeup of the side view of my flower. I love the blue color of the Safari Outback paper. So distressed and yummy. I love the crackled rusty look of it

BoBunny March Social Media Inspiration

 The  Florida Sunshine makes me  happy.... So does working with my Bo Bunny stash of  wonderful goodies!! The little bit of yellow on this piece of patterned paper from the Sweet Life collection, "Spring", gave my the inspiration I needed to pull out the beautiful Yellow Zinnia
 Blossoms and work around them. Just a hint of mint green/blue was all I needed to offset the brightness of the yellow.

 
I die cut a piece of yellow paper from the 6x6 paper pack and adhered it to a piece of corrugated cardboard for the base of my frame. Then I used the BoBunny die with a piece of mint green paper and adhered the  different layers onto my base frame.  I used the middle die to cut my photo for a perfect match, and dropped it into the middle of my frame.

The butterfly is from the Noteworthy pack. I outlined the designs with Pearlescents in Buttercup, and added the jewels.I wanted it to resemble a cloisonne brooch. You can cover the piece with clear medium for shine. I chose to leave it flat for photography purposes. The jewels were adhered with the Gold Pearlescents.

 
I used the Brocade stencil on the background using molding paste. Once it dried, I used a color wash of Lindys Stamp Gang Magicals in Yellow Rose Of Texas and randomly brushed it on with a paintbrush over the masking. The leaves were die cut from a piece of paper from the Sweet life 6x6 paper pad.

The title was created with a  couple of pieces from Noteworthy and I just layered them. I placed a small strip of corrugated cardboard underneath to lift it off of the page for dimension.

The leaves were die cut from the same patterned paper I used in the frame. The die was shipped to me all the way from France from my very sweet friend Pascale Bernard. I just love it!! Just a few vines tucked in here and there was all it needed for fill.

 I hope you were inspired today to pull out something that makes you happy. We all need a little sunshine in our lives now and then!!

"I Believe in Angels" Lindys Stamp Gang March reveal

I am up on the Lindys Stamp Gang Blog today with another layout using the wonderful sprays and embossing powder. Sometimes, one color in the background paper inspires my creativity. In this case it was a hint of beautiful teal blue in the Prima Timeless Memories paper I used. I pulled out my arsenal of Sprays and found that C'est la vie Cerise Flat Fabios spray. was the perfect match. After distressing the edges of my layout, I sprayed around the perimeter with my perfectly matched color.

To enhance the teal color in the layout, I used Hyacinth Blue Jade embossing powder on the Dusty Attic Sweet Pea Frame chipboard. It goes on blue but when it is heat set, the gorgeous teal color just pops out. The embossing powders are two toned and gorgeous. I used the same color embossing powder and a floral stamp and framed the chipboard frame for an extra layer of embossing beauty on the background paper. Once my frame was in place, I sprayed it with some Maidenhair Fern Green Starburst spray. It left some flecks of gold on the frame itself, and a shimmer around it.

 I picked out some teal, green  and yellow flowers from my stash. I enhanced the yellow with Summer Lovin Sun Flat Magicals, the teal flowers were enhance with C'est la vie Cerise Flat Fabios spray and touched it a bit with of Maidenhair Fern Green and the smaller flowers were beige, and I used Maidenhair Fern Green Starburst spray on them as well. I also used the Maidenhair Fern Green on the leaves. It leaves behind a golden shimmer.

Just a closeup of the flowers. There are a couple of pieces of a Queen Annes Lace flower that I tucked into the floral clusters that I sprayed with the Maidenhair Fern Green.

I tied some twine into a couple of little bows for added interest.

 
You can see the two toned effect of the embossing powder when you look at it at a different angle. The Hyacinth Blue Jade  color goes from blue to teal.

BoBunny Canvas Glitter paste Tutorial

Hello there... Today, I am sharing a Canvas Wall Hanging featuring the Sweet Life Collection and Glitter Paste. I had so much fun with all of the new Bo Bunny products from the latest collections. I chose to do a wall hanging for a dear friend who owns a photography business. Shannon James of Portraits by S&S. The photo is of her gorgeous little one Delilah. This is kind of like a canvas wrapped photo, except it is a 3 dimensional scrapbook layout mounted on 12x12 canvas with the edges being adorned to match the layout. I did a lot of stamping using various BoBunny stamps. I mixed older and newest collections. There are so many gorgeous stamps to choose from now. The new Flutter stamps are darling. I LOVE butterflies!!

I love how just by rubbing some glitter paste onto the blossoms, it makes them come to life! They just shimmer and shine. I pulled off the middle to the flowers and replaced it with a brad. The smaller roses were die cut and rolled using paper from the 6x6 paper pad.

here are more of the Bluch blossoms. The leaves were all hand cut, rolled and glittered as well.

I framed the gorgeous photo of Delilah using a Sizzix die cut frame. I die cut a piece from corrugated cardboard and toped it with a diecut piece from the 6x6 paper pad. I adhered them in layers and popped it off of the page using small pop dots. I did not want to crop the photo, so parts are peeking out from under the frame.

 

I used the Glitter paste on various parts of the canvas. I also rubbed it around the decorative punched paper on the background.

I also spread some glitter paste on the leaves of the flowers. I layered parts of the die cut Ornate Frames behind the Noteworthy tag. I even placed one over the word dream.

The Tutorial to create the Canvas Wall Hanging:

Step1. Prepare the sides of the canvas by rubbing on some Pearlescents in Blush. This will create a base that the glitter paste will adhere to.

Step 2. Apply your stencil to the edge of the canvas and stick down firmly. Apply a thick layer of glitter paste using a palette knife.

 Step 3. Pull off the stencil carefully, and repeat this step until the whole perimeter of the canvas is done.

Step 4. Adhere your layout to the canvas once the glitter paste has dried.
