Scraps Of Elegance***Delightful***
I must say, that Scraps Of Elegance Possibility kit ins one of the prettiest kits that I have gotten to work with. The colors are among my fave!! The yellow and lavender compliment each other so well . Ceste La Vie collection from Bo Bunny is truly beautiful!! I think I may hoard the last few papers I have!! Last month I attended my nieces baby shower and had the opportunity to grab some photo's of my sisters granddaughter Nikki. Our little red headed beauty is a doll!! I chose to change this photo to black and white. It made more of an impact against the colors of the page.
I used a couple more of the Dogwood Flowers that I did a tutorial on. I inked some of the yellow petals on the flowers with the gorgeous Viva Decor Inka Gold paint pot that came in the kit. I LOVE that stuff. A little goes a long way and the shimmer is amazing!!And of course using my Tim Holtz Tattered Floral die once again. The smaller roses were created using the Tim Holtz Tattered Pinecone die and the gorgeous velvet paper that came in the Embellishment add on kit.
I had to sneak in the beautiful purple Prima Flower from one of the packs in the add on Flower kit.
I die cut the Tim Holtz birdcage using a scrap of the yellow paper in the kit. I just added a few of the butterflies onto the cage.
I found that Tim Holtz distress ink in Milled Lavender was the perfect color to ink on this paper. I used my Prima mask to add design to the page. More purple flowers to flutter on the page, and I will leave you with the butterfly file I created to compliment the kit. I printed these out from a 4x6 piece of card stock to get these small sizes.
the velvet paper I used to mat the photo was punched with Martha Stewarts Rain drop punch around the page set.
The small title was an old piece I had in my stash. It was silver metal and I just dabbed some acrylic paint on it.
You must go and visit the Scraps Of Elegance Blog and the gallery to see what the design team has done with this gorgeous kit!!! I absolutely loved it!!! The add ons make it the more beautiful!!
Here is the butterfly file i created to use with the kit. Enjoy it!!
Thank you for visiting my blog to see my latest creation! A special Thank you to Melinda and Lisa for inviting me to share in your magnificent site, and design with Scraps of Elegance. xo

A Most Wonderful Unexpected Gift...
With all of the sadness going on in the United States, and around the world today, I want to share a little part of joy. I want to share one of the reasons why I love our crafting community sooo sooo much. As some of you know, Tim Holtz held a wonderful challenge. The Tattered Floral Challenge. I had seen it when it was 2 weeks into it's inception, after someone who has dubbed me the "Flower Whisperer" ( Cathi O'Neill ) pointed it out. lol...I started looking at all of the entries, going to each individual blog to see the closeups and details, and I was blown away...They were beautiful!! Then I came upon this particular entry. The one that belongs to Lynn Stevens.
I thought to myself...How can I top this??? This piece of art just struck me as gorgeous. And then perusing Lynn's blog, I thought, Now this is a true artist. Her talents are amazing!! You really must go check out her blog. But I went on to thinking, this one is going to win for sure. I fell in love with the piece, and I was inspired to make my own..But I didn't get around to it.
Then the winners were announced...I was doubly shocked...I had won!!!...But Lynn's gorgeous entry was not among the 5. Shocked....But this is not the reason I write this entry into my blog....
The reason is because I want people to know that our community is a great one. Artists and Crafters have a heart like no other. We share our ideas, we teach what we know and sometimes, we give away what we have to to makes someones "Happy Mail" all the more special. Lynn, sent me that ever so wanted "Happy Mail".
I had left her a message on her blog telling her how inspired I was by her gorgeous entry. I wanted to let her know that it was a Winner in my eyes. I still do believe that. I saved a picture of her entry on my laptop in a folder I call Antebellum Inspiration. Only the most gorgeous projects I find out there, make it into that folder. For future inspiration. I was planning on making my own. I wanted a piece like that to adorn a beautiful Wire Dress Form that is in my scrap studio.
Then one day not to long ago, I got a message from Lynn....She wanted to give me her beautiful Tattered Floral Lace Necklace. Her exact words..."It's Yours"... wow..I was happy dancing around the house. The generosity from one crafter to the next is just amazing sometimes. I never expected that. It was a gesture that meant a lot to me.
So I want to say a public Thank You to Lynn for her generous gift to me. And I want to share with all of you the detailed photos I took of her beautiful entry, and it's new home around the neck of my wire dress form. I am sure you will agree that it is a winner. I love it to pieces!!!
Be warned, to show you every detail, this is photo overload!!!

Little Chest of Dreams...Scraps Of Elegance April Guest Designer.
I thought I would do an Off The Page Project with the April Scraps Of Elegance kit, "Possibility". The kit has gorgeous Carta Bella papers in
them. It was one of the papers that inspired me to do this little chest
of drawers. Actually, I have been dying to use the Sizzix Candy Box die
wonderfully created by Eileen Hull. I picked up the die at Hobby Lobby a
couple of weeks ago when Sizzix was 50% off. Love my dies!! This one
rocks!!. The chest is made of chip board as I didn't have any suggested
white mat board. But it worked. At work I have the unit clerk save me
the card board backs of the paper packs. Some are really thick. Love to
use them for my die cuts. Well the boxes are so much fun to put
together!! A great alternative to create a chest of drawers yourself,
would be to use matchboxes. But you will miss out on the fun of creating
the boxes yourself!! Just sayin!!
I cut out the Carta Bella paper Dear Jane with all of the little boxes on it and adhered a different color to each draw front and sides. I added a button the the front as well as the beautiful Prima say it in Crystals that were from the kit. Then I stacked and glued the 6 finished boxes together.I then backed them with chip board (so the drawers don't fall out,) and placed pieces on the top and sides before covering the chest with the rest of the Carta Bella paper Script and Scribbles.
I will have to change to feet out as the bottom drawer wont pull out because the feet are in the way. My plan is to buy 4 small wooden spools and paint them and adhere to the bottom corners of my little chest. But I didn't get a chance to go out, so my Tim Holtz feet are strategically placed under the chest, not glued on. But they are sooooo pretty!!
The roses were created from the scraps of my paper in the kit and I used my Tim Holtz Tattered Pinecone die.
Around the 3 roses I created, I tucked flowers from the kit here and there. There are also butterflies that I printed up, cut out, and just finger painted Rock Candy Stickles onto. I'll provide the file at the end of my post. I created them from a beautiful piece of Websters Pages paper a couple of years ago. They are among my fave in all of the files I created. I am still hoarding that piece of paper!!.
The little vines were die cut with my Sizzix Sizzlets die set, and the green paper in the card stock add on kit. I just used Glimmer mist to darken the color.
After looking at this post, I really needed something to put on the back of my chest. I will look through my stash of Blue Fern Studios chip board. I know I have something!!
Thank you for stopping by my blog..Here is the butterfly file I promised. For the size I used on the chest, I printed them on a 4x6 piece of white card stock. That gave me sweet little butterflies!! I adored putting this project together!! Don't forget to visit Scraps Of Elegance for more inspiration from the Design Team.
