I love working with the soft colors these last few months. The Maja papers, Vintage Spring Basics collection is just heaven to work with. The gorgeous add-ons, flowers and embellishments, just adds to the main kit's beauty. And if you grab another set of the Maja papers, (and you will want 2 of each of these for sure!!), then you can double your scrapping pleasure. The fronts are as gorgeous as the backs..I may want a 3rd set of papers!! Please go visit the C'est Magnifique Blog for more gorgeous inspiration from the Design Team. You are going to be blown away!! Thank You Leslie and Valerie for believing in my work. And thank you to the Design Team for welcoming me into your C'est Magnifique designing world.

                                                     ~~~A Wish~~~
The flowers were created using the new  Sizzix Bigz Die Black-Eyed Susan Flower die. and the middle are 2 other smaller die that I have in my stash. The flourishes are a Memory Box die.
 I  painted the Grand Balloon with gesso, then sprayed it with some Heidi Swapp Color Shine spray, and then used Liquid Pearls to top it. I lightly inked the edges of the Prima wood icons with some peach colored ink.
I did some machine sewing on my layout to add a little texture.
C'est Magnifique June Kit Reveal... "Dream In Pastel" creating as Guest Designer...
 Dream In Pastel is the gorgeous June kit for C'est Magnifique. The beautiful Maja paper collection,  Vintage Spring Basics, takes center stage in the kit. The pastel colors of spring are soft and lovely, and I had so much fun creating all of my projects as the June Guest Designer. I will reveal 1 of 5 projects today on this Blog post, but dont forget to join me the rest of the month for the full reveal.
 The contents of the kit are breathtaking, from the Prima flowers to the Blue Fern Studios chipboard and the mix of Prima and Bo Bunny products round out a gorgeous collection. The wooden Trinkets from Prima are just to adorable. Mushrooms and leaves abound in the treasured wooden box. Imagine the possibilities in adorning the pieces, or just leave them in their natural state.
 Who doesn't love FLOWERS!!! If you love flowers like I do, you will not want to miss out on this add on collection of Prima and Petaloo flowers. It doesn't get any better than these!! The soft pastel colors of the flowers compliment the Maja paper collection perfectly!!
 And the perfect way to stretch your creative possibilities is to add on the embellishment kit. It has the best product from your favorite manufacturers, like  Bo Bunny, Blue Fern Studios, Prima, Petaloo and a few more!!
 The first project I did was create a 12x12 layout. Using only 2 pieces of the Maja paper, I was able to layer and create flowers and leaves. Those of you who know my work, know I create a lot of my own flowers and mix them with the manufacturers flowers, But on this layout, I show you how to use your own handmade, and save the other flowers for another project. The small Dogwood Flowers were made to look like cherry blossom flowers. I used the new Sizzix Dogwood Flowers die to create them from the leftover paper that was used as the base of this layout. I tucked in a couple of doilies from my own stash and created a banner with what was left of the paper. I found the pretty photo of the bird sitting on a cherry tree on Tumbler.
 Here is a closeup of the flowers I created. The branch is a Sizzix die that I die cut from the paper and sprayed it with Glimmer Mist. The leaves were diecut, inked and distressed a bit for a more natural look.
I hope you enjoyed looking my first of 5 projects. Head on over the C'est Magnifique June Gallery to see what the rest of the design Team has created for your viewing pleasure and to jump start your mojo! You are just going to love each piece of exquisite art!!
Blue Fern Studios May Sketch Challenge
  I took off the month of May from designing for anyone. Well accept Blue Fern Studios! That doesn't mean I wont be creating anything else this month. I will be Guest Designing for Donna Salazar and a special kit club  in June, so I have been working on those projects. But I spent the day with Prima for National Scrapbooking Day while I was working on a Blue Fern Studios project, so I decided to add Prima products and use the Blue Fern Studios May Sketch and chip board to complete my project. That was a fun day for me.
This layout was inspired by my paternal Grandparents wedding photo. They were married in the early 30's. I am in the process of collecting old family photo's from other family members. My grandparents nephews have been a wonderful source. My dad doesn't have to many, as his bother (my dear late uncle) was the archiver of most of the pictures, and he didn't share very often. It is a surprise every time I receive another old photo. I used Prima Fairy Belle papers for this layout. Jodie Lee is one heck of an artist. She designs a lot of the papers for Prima. And her Australian accent is beautiful!!
I used a mixture of Prima, Petaloo and Recollection  flowers, clustered with Sizzix leaves.
The chip board fence is BFS  Lattice Fence. I painted it with white Gesso and after it dried I added a second textured coat. I made the banner from scraps of paper and strung it on bakery twine then layered it over the fence.
                                                                       Lattice Fence
 The Brigitte Butterfly was painted with white Gesso and after it dried I spread some Distress Stickles over it and applied some Prima pearls to the body.
                                                                 Brigitte Butterfly set
  I added 2 tags and slid them into the side of the photo. They can be used for journaling with info about the story of your photo's.
The title LOVE was created with Websters Pages letter stickers. The glass wing butterflies were from a butterfly file I created. I will share it at the end of this post.
Blue Fern Studios Blog Post using the Prima April BAP sketch.
I decided for my Blue Fern Studios May Blog Post, that I was going to do 3 different projects. Mainly to show versatility in using the product. Inspired by Joyces Lawrences  Matchbox Sewing Kit, I wanted to do something on a larger scale. I had a plain old box that I purchased at Michaels that needed a purpose. So I covered it with gorgeous papers from my Scraps Of Elegance April Kit Possibility, inked it up a bit with Tim Holtz Vintage photo ink and a Prima stencil that I love, added some wooded spools for the feet, and went to town adorning it with flowers (handmade and Prima and Petaoo) and Blue Fern Studios chip board. And that is how my Button Box was born.
                                           The Button Box
 I aged the Vintage Lock by heat embossing it using Stampendous bronze embossing powder, and adhered it to the front flap on the box.
 I used Ranger Super fine  silver embossing powder on the scissors to give it an aged worn look, and while the melted powder was still wet, I wiped it off a little here and there to make it appear as if the silver plate was flaking off.
 I used the Doodle Corners on the corners of my button box, heat embossing them with the same bronze powder I used on the Vintage lock. I also heat embossed the buttons (WOW embossing powder in yellow) and spools and scattered them among the flowers. I wound DMC floss around the spools and tied floss in the button holes.
     So when you flip the lid, you can see my beautiful button collection!! Easier to find now instead of  emptying out a jar. And so much prettier.
                                                                       Vintage Locks
                                                                      Doodle Corners
My next project is a mixed media piece that was totally inspired by Leanne Bishop (Luvlee Scrappin). She did an awesome YouTube video tutorial that you must check out!!  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXTgnNXpd6M&feature=youtu.be
I adored the white washed effect on the whole canvas and wanted to do the same.  Thanks Leanne for the wonderful inspiration!!! I used and entered the Prima April BAP as my design.
                                                      Mixed Media Canvas
I used the Blue Fern Studios Art Nouveau Frame for my 12 x 12 canvas. I covered the canvas with a sheet of Prima Fairy Belle paper in La Ronda pattern. I white washed everything in Gesso, and used sprays and color mists on the chipboard pieces while they were still slightly damp. The color bleeds into the Gesso. I used Donna Downey Poppies and Peonies "Floral" 12x12 Mask with texture paste on the some of the circles on the patterned paper as to follow the pattern.  I found that mixing my texture paste with a little Gesso is the perfect medium for a softer texture.
 I have an old stash of Prima flowers that I have been hoarding. I love love the big ones.I have 2 buckets of the big ones. They are a discontinued design. I must hoard them and use them sparingly.
                                           Just another view of the beautiful Prima Flowers.
 I die cut the letters,  QuicKutz Storybook Mini 4-Inch by 8-Inch  for my title using heavy weight card stock and just went over it with Gesso. Then I just sprayed some Glimmer Mist and Lindys Starburst spray in the same colors I used on the background. I also used Donna Downey Poppies and Peonies "7 Stems" 6x6 Mask, under the photo where the drips are in the sketch. Then added a few more drips when I sprayed the stems.
I used one of the Blue Fern Studios Gabrielle Butterflies (there are 3 in the set) and base coated it with Gesso, and sprayed it with the same sprays I used throughout the page.
 Once the whole canvas was done, I used Glimmer Mist antique Gold all over the page to give it a shimmer. You cant tell from the pictures, but in real life, the gold touch over the white is just gorgeous!!.
                                                        Prima April Build A Page Sketch
                                                                Gabrielle Butterfly Set
                                                                   Art Nouveau Frame
                                 A Layout
 I cut the Damask Motif in half and used it to frame my photo for visual interest. I used Viva Croco Crackling Color on white paint on the piece and after it was dried, I sprayed Lindy's Starburst spray over it and used my fingers to push the color in the cracks.
The beauty of Blue Fern Studios chip board is that it withstands just about any medium and holds up really really well. There isn't anything I wont try on it.
 The flowers were die cut with Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die and I sprayed and placed a ZVA Creative rose in the middle of each flower. For the roses I used the Tattered Pinecone die. The dandelion diecuts are a new Memory Box die named "Kylie Stem". And the fern is named "Delicate Fern" And delicate it is! So beautiful. I have quite the collection of Memory Box Dies that I get from Blue Moon Scrapbooking and The CropStop
 The butterfly was base coated with Gesso and then sprayed with 2 different colors while it was still wet.
